"Spending just 20 minutes near the ocean has been scientifically proven to significantly lower cortisol levels. Nature really is the ultimate therapy."
@blakeaburge Some of God’s greatest works begin when people think their best years are behind them. Hope is not denial. It’s trust that God is not finished yet.
@elonmusk - Grok for health AI has been instrumental in advocating for my mother. I just simply wanted to say thank you. Oh the stories I could tell. 🙌 Thank you!!!
NEW: Expert thrift shopper purchases a $3.07 Lakers warm-up jacket that is now expected to sell at auction for up to $250,000.
19-year-old Quinn Brown of Oregon says he found an LA Lakers warm-up jacket that was worn by Wilt Chamberlain.
Brown says he was thrifting when someone, after deciding they didn't want the jacket, threw it in front of him.
"He just threw it in front of me, and I immediately grabbed it," Brown said.
The man says he posted a photo of the jacket on Instagram, which caught the attention of Sotheby’s auction house.
"They said your jacket has been matched to the 1972 NBA Finals. I knew the NBA Finals jersey sold for $4.9 million. That’s the jersey he wore under my jacket," Brown said.
The jacket has since been authenticated. Sotheby’s says it is worth between $150,000 and $250,000.
Major cheat code for life: Assume good things are still ahead. You are not behind. You are not too late. You are not disqualified by your past. One new season can change the entire story. Keep showing up with belief. The best chapters are often written after the hardest ones.
A reminder from Atomic Habits by James Clear:
“New goals don't deliver new results. New lifestyles do. And a lifestyle is a process, not an outcome. For this reason, all of your energy should go into building better habits, not chasing better results.”
@JuliaBramble I am living this so much with my mother. It’s been a rough ride again recently. She was just readmitted to the hospital again after being discharged last Monday. 🥺 There have been so many hospitalizations over the last 10 years.
Major cheat code for life: Master the art of the fresh start. From a bad morning. From a bad interaction. From a missed workout. From a poor decision. The goal isn't to avoid the fall. It's to shorten the time between the fall and the reset. Fast recovery compounds.
If you don't stop to be grateful for the blessings you've been given...
You'll spend your whole life chasing the next thing without ever enjoying what you already have.
Gratitude rewires your mind to see abundance instead of lack.
Write down three things you're grateful for every morning. You'll realise you're already living someone else's dream life.
I genuinely think a lot of millennials are reaching the same conclusion at the same time.
We grew up watching technology make life better every year. Cell phones. iPods. Smartphones. An app for everything. It felt like the future was arriving right in front of us, and we couldn’t wait for what came next.
Then somewhere along the way, it changed.
Everything became a subscription. Social media became algorithms. Every day feels like another once-in-a-lifetime event. The things that were supposed to save us time somehow ended up demanding more of our attention than ever.
We were sold convenience.
What we got was a world that feels faster, louder, more expensive, and somehow less human.
And that’s why so many people I know dream about a completely different life now. Not more technology. Not more optimization.
Just a quiet job, a flip phone, a small town, and a place where life feels real again.
Underrated life advice: Become a purveyor of encouragement. Notice what's good in people. Tell them when they do something well. Celebrate their progress. Root for them to win. Be inspired by their success. The world already has enough critics. Be different.
One of the best life advice I've ever received is to constantly reassert your attention on the present moment
So that you don't fall unconscious at the wheel of life
Since more time is spend living in your mind than in actual reality.
As a result, you stop being a passive participant in your own life.
Go back to your childhood to find all the activities that once made you feel energised, curios and filled with excitement.
You naturally gravitated toward what nourished your spirit.
That is your key to unlocking new levels of energy.
Reconnect with those old hobbies.
NEW: e.l.f Cosmetics co-founder is set to become a Catholic priest after abandoning his wealthy and luxurious life.
At the age of 42, Scott Vincent Borba gave up his fortune and entered the seminary.
Now at 52 years of age, Borba, a former actor, designer, model and singer, is set to be ordained on May 23 in Visalia by the Diocese of Fresno.
"We ran around with the likes of, Paris Hilton, and partying with Kardashians and just doing up the Hollywood life. I was a poster boy for luxury living. I was not in any which way humble. I was very prideful," he said during an interview.
"I asked our Lord to help me be the man that he created me to be."
"And upon that instance, I had this massive flood of love and mercy that came into my life. It was a very mystical experience."
What an amazing story.
@HistorianUSA1 Job offers incoming now - Nabisco, National Dairy Council and likely where he just interviewed!!! Adding levity to an interview may be frowned upon by some, but it’s a huge trait not teachable and demonstrates an ability to make tough situations less tough!
