@daniel_m_lavery Whatever you settle on, know it will probably change throughout those first years. A lot. We just always focused on whatever got the most people in the house the most peaceful sleep, and sometimes that meant weird sleep configs.
@jdesmondharris There is a fire safe with SS cards & deed to the house or whatever. Big shit. Then a small hanging file folder bin w lesser docs. The documents get placed on top of the bin and never actually filed or organized. Perfect system.
@laurie_maccini @surlybassey Just had the opportunity to shorten a layover by flying standby on an earlier flight. Talked to kids (7 & 10) about how to handle sitting w/out us, no expectation that folks would swap. Figured we could offer to let other passenger switch if THEY wanted.
@jdesmondharris Does the bf have other obsessive habits? This is deeply creepy, but there may be a path forward if he can fully own up to the harm and lay it all out on the table in couple's therapy. Living apart w major boundaries is key & lw must be able to talk to a friend about this.
@jdesmondharris Let go of trying to change her opinion of him & focus on what you want out of your relationship with your sister. I'd probably have a heart to heart: "I know you don't like Gary, and that's fine! I miss our closeness, and I love you regardless. Can we spend some time together?"
@jdesmondharris I'm a bit confused here. The examples provided are not bigoted, untrue lies. They are her justifications for not liking him, which the letter writer thinks (rightly so) are flimsy, but the sister hasn't really behaved badly. She gets to not like him and be jealous!
@mrseanmdonovan @yrfatfriend I agree about Nicole! She acknowledges her size without any self-deprication, eats decadent food joyfully, and flirts with confidence.
@jdesmondharris I prefer using a shoebox or similar, all photos and various ephemera go into it, and then when it's full add the dates. This allows for random stuff that is too hefty for a scrapbook.
@jdesmondharris@KO_616 I really feel your advice about preparing for your audience, even if it's friends. Different friends can serve different purposes and that's not cynical, that's being realistic about strengths and weaknesses!
@stupidjanrogers@jdesmondharris Reminds me of the parent at our school who claimed she wasn't homophobic to censor gay media, just "didn't want kids exposed to romantic relationships." Ma'am, you are MARRIED, what do they think you and your husband are, roomies?
@jdesmondharris 1. Inviting LW into their home with this bedroom configuration indicates they pretty comfortable with the life they are leading.
2. So homophobic, gross.
3. I'd only recommend bringing it up if LW indicated any interest in connection or understanding. As is? Big nope.
Don’t like dick? You’re a witch!
Love dick so much? Also witch!
Sometimes like dick, but just not into it tonight? Your friend is a witch!
I can’t get it up? ALL OF YOU ARE WITCHES!
