#robotics X, I’m looking for a “definitive” text that surveys modern robotics, akin to George Bekey’s text “Autonomous Robots: From biological inspiration to implementation and control” but more recent. Any pointers?
Our paper on real-time decentralized cooperative #robot navigation is online! No preplanning or comm b/w robots, navigate through cluttered environments by sensing position only, while significant reducing deadlocks. Paper: https://t.co/8FybsuJUiT

Attendees at #SXSW 2024 would love to see @NoraRobots, NASA JPL's Amir Rahmani, @jumpjoe78, and me talk about SWARM ROBOTICS, right?? Please vote for our topic on the SXSW PanelPicker® https://t.co/8swZzwEbh7

So much useful information in this thread for all disciplines. Definitely follows the strategy we use—writing always helps clarify our goals and is useful even without a specific paper and/or publication venue in mind.
In the LLM-science discussion, I see a common misconception that science is a thing you do and that writing about it is separate and can be automated. I’ve written over 300 scientific papers and can assure you that science writing can’t be separated from science doing. Why? 1/18

I'm revamping my grad course on coordinated mobile #robotics. The focus is on #multirobot systems but it's self contained and will cover topics relevant to multi-robot systems. Suggestions on papers to include as assigned readings and why they're important?
I need to add that when I said colleagues I also meant the staff of @CSatUSC. They are an amazing team and were always there and ready with assistance/solutions when I needed them. They also became my friends! I will miss you, too!
