UHWI is in the final stages of establishing its Covid-19 isolation ward. These wards will be equipped for remote monitoring, ventilators, ICU beds and all other requirements to ensure the safety of medical staff and the efficient recovery of patients.
Each year we provide education grants to tertiary students. This year we increased our grants to $50,000 each to 60 tertiary students residing in communities nearby our facilities.
We routinely build water catchment reservoirs designed to catch and retain natural rain water. These reservoirs allow for more effective use of natural water to help control dust in and around our mining areas.
The reservoir is completely surrounded by barbed wire fencing in addition to the engagement of a security company to provide round the clock security of the area.
The Noranda Bauxite family is deeply saddened by the death of Rojaun Brown, a 10 year old boy that went missing from the Belle Terre community near Alexandria late last week. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Brown family at this difficult time.
