@Dan_Shaughnessy@BostonGlobe "The University of Oklahoma athletic directorβs name is Joe Castiglione. Can you believe it?"
He's been the AD there since 1998. That's so long ago, Dan Duquette was still the GM of the Red Sox. Nice "scoop," dude.
@SoxBooth Wishing Hall of Famer Joe Castiglione all the best in retirement. I caught the very end of the game on the MLB app while in Washington DC. As one who mostly had to follow the Sox from a distance, thanks for bringing baseball across the miles to Red Sox Nation.
After 42 years as the voice of the Boston Red Sox Hall of Famer Joe Castiglione announces his retirement. Congratulations on a Hall of Fame career, Joe!
"Official Workwear Partner" is a very strange way to spell "helmet advertiser."
As shameless as MLB is in attaching an ad to just about anything they can think of, for some reason they just can't come right out and admit that they're selling ad space. π
@RedSox For crying out loud, the Tim Wakefield memorial patch wasn't on his jersey. The one thing that should have been there vs. two things that shouldn't have been. Do better, @RedSox .
Nobody is more deserving of this honor than Joe. But it really bugs me that folks who throw out the first pitch at @RedSox games are given home jerseys with names on the back *and* the ad on the sleeve. Neither of those things should be there.
After being inducted into the Hall of Fame last weekend, renowned Red Sox radio broadcaster Joe Castiglione threw out tonightβs ceremonial first pitch!
@stltoday Apparently it's necessary to remind your sports department that the @Cardinals did not, in fact, win the 2004 World Series, nor did they even win a game in that series. #RedSoxNation has not stopped talking about this for the past 20 years. Do better.
@caesardan The time for the @Cardinals to honor the 2004 World Series champions was earlier this season when the @RedSox were in town. It would have been a lovely gesture, too, considering the Birds didn't win a single game in that series.
I was going to say that a corporate sponsorship is the last thing anyone would think of as an improvement to the #NBACup, but the truth is it's kind of amazing that it didn't have a corporate name from the start.

Starting November 12, all 30 teams will compete for the NBA Cup with 8 teams advancing out of groups into the knockout rounds, with the semifinals and championship held in Las Vegas, December 14 and 17!
As a Maryland kid and Terp fan growing up in the '70s and '80s, Lefty *was* basketball to me. Thanks for so many amazing memories. Rest in peace, Coach. βοΈπ’π
