Independent Educational, Public Health & Legal Advocacy Service, Specialising in #SEND to include Parliamentary Advice, Expert Witness & Speaker Services (UK)
@SEN_advice@Running2staysa1 Some Of our clients have had or must wait 18 months (only because) the CYP’s have a placement ! That’s the tribunal’s triage / priory system now! But regardless of placement/setting - it’s also the provision the ensures outcomes! 😫
@SEN_advice We are using the Mediation Route as a means to submit clients positions (using it as a mock tribunal) and yielding greater results (faster). CYP’s cannot wait over a year for education whilst LA’s do nothing.
51 weeks appears to be the standard #send appeal timetable now.
9-10 months between evidence deadline and hearing
Whilst a lot of appeals are resolved during that window, FAR too many LAs are simply sitting back for that year.
A generation of young people let down

This will be tough but essential listening ⬇️ as it will sadly highlight the very difficult court process for rape victims. There is still work to do to ensure the process is much more trauma-informed and not pushing victims to breaking point @CPSUK@TheCriminalBar@MoJGovUK
Children in Gaza are so hungry they are eating animal feed to stay alive.
This is what our political leaders have normalised with their silence.
A ceasefire is a basic demand to stop people dying — and should be made by anyone who believes in the equal value of human life.
I just read a paper in psychiatry published in 2024, which states:
‘Professionals diagnose, misdiagnose and re diagnose frequently, but not due to any ideological allegiance with any one diagnosis over another’
I mean. What?
The entire process is based on ideological allegiance to one diagnosis over another.
@SocialWorkKeith@JuliaCa20602661@ayeyeahyup I hear you & understand, I would think hard about my position too, h/e knowing what I know b/c of the evidence, AD would also be used on the vulnerable. How do we mitigate? It already happens…. Those who could survive are allowed to die via malpractice.
@SocialWorkKeith@JuliaCa20602661@ayeyeahyup You fall in the 0.3% who do,H/e just because you have a duty, & use it, does mean others do. It’s because others don’t exercise their duty’s, that then affords the rest to use AD on the very vulnerable, it happens so frequently, that I ? the fine line of malpractice v murder.
@SocialWorkKeith@JuliaCa20602661@ayeyeahyup I accept your position, many would, however Julia’s point is that AD would be used incorrectly to “wash out” the very vulnerable, which has been proven before. Those YA are left or die, or are not supported to live.
@SocialWorkKeith@JuliaCa20602661@ayeyeahyup The issue with capacity, is who is assessing. I can say with 100% certainty based on my reporting to the GMC etc that many “professionals” have been investigated for wholly inadequate, unreliable & false reports, it’s so significant, some have become criminal investigations.
@SocialWorkKeith@JuliaCa20602661@ayeyeahyup Those at risk - YA who hv MH/LD/ASD etc are treated with utter contempt/disrespect, so much so, that (they) COST too much. I can name them here. Julia’s son, my son, Oliver M, & all my clients. I would like to extend a hand to help you fully comprehend the gravitas.
@SocialWorkKeith@JuliaCa20602661@ayeyeahyup Regrettably with honesty, this is not the case, Julia has achieved more than most in her capacity. She is being supported by around 3 million. As a SW, I would hope that U could listen to her & know that what (we) speak is 100% acc. I also sit with evidence that can sink many!
@SocialWorkKeith@ayeyeahyup@JuliaCa20602661 The issue here, is that you have conflated personal and professional. Your personal view has blurred your professional understanding, if it didn’t your response would have been so different. Never assume!
@SocialWorkKeith@JuliaCa20602661@ayeyeahyup Why do you automatically think that young adults know it all? More importantly YA within SEND / MH Sectors / Complex Health etc do not always have capacity, due to learning difficulties, disability, rare diseases, neurological conditions! YA’s are routinely treated appallingly!
Here we sit waiting for years for our statutory inquiry but it you want assisted dying you’re straight into no.10.
Be very very afraid for your vulnerable. They’re about to be hoovered up and disposed of en masse…..

@SocialWorkKeith@ayeyeahyup@JuliaCa20602661 Julia the issue is thousands have NO idea what happens to the millions of vulnerable CYP-A. When U highlight it, it’s almost as if you are talking ancient Greek. The AD policy is, in & of itself ok, h/e it will be used against our vulnerable CYP-A. We know this by experience.
