"I feel terrible about showing this emptiness to the British : In Normandy, a soldier's statue was stolen just days before the D-Day ceremonies. A large bronze statue representing a Scottish bagpiper disappeared overnight Thursday in Bréville-les-Monts."

Sad news this afternoon that RAF veteran Gilbert Clarke has passed away at the age of 100 years old. In recent years he attended the D-Day commemorations in Normandy with his family and erstwhile companion Angela Burnett.
May he rest in peace.
