@TWilsonOttawa And they couldn’t resist a swipe at the conservatives and firearm owners. ‘Some’ firearms owner think this program is a waste of resources. I think the better word would be All or Most.
@Feral999@CanadasNFA The govt’s job is done. That is the insidious part of this. On nov 1, owner takes prohibited out, gets caught, charged and goes to jail. Govt wins. Owner never takes gun out of cabinet, can’t use it, gun off the street. No one knows it’s there. Govt wins
@explorerrook@GunGnome If the Mini-14 was so dangerous, why did it take 30 years for the govt to get around to banning it? Why wasn’t it banned in 1989? And how many times was it used to murder people after that? Perhaps the banning of the firearms was to placate the low info citizens?
@GunnieMadcat I don't understand these trolls. Don't like hunting, don't go hunting. Why insult and go off like this on someone who does. This world would be a much better place if people just minded their own business. If it doesn't concern you, carry on with your day.
@Polysesouvient The more I think about this the more ridiculous and stupid this position is. Why should they not address their on.y stakeholder group. Firearm owners? They are supposed to help owners navigate the laws, no matter how idiotic. Why should the relationship be adversarial?
@Polysesouvient@DanforthFSC@cmaconthehill@citynewscalgary The rest of the country is more concerned with how the firearms were returned to someone that should not of had them. Which raises the question whether this is about narrative control and talking points.
@Polysesouvient@rcmpgrcpolice@TheSpec@DanforthFSC Poly hasn't had an informed debate about gun control laws in its entire 36 year history. The debate with Poly has always been about fear and emotions. Which allowed the govt to look like it was doing something.
@meunierfredz@Ian_Senechal@CCFR_CCDAF@CanadasNFA We all know that the goal was never public safety. Just garnering votes in Quebec and Toronto. Probably why the govt fought so hard at court to keep the cabinet documents form being exposed at trial.
@TWilsonOttawa All these guys wanting Gary out as Public Safety minister might want to rethink that one. Better to have an incompetent nincompoop than someone motivated. And if they cancel the program (don’t hold your breath) who better to throw under the bus.
@erinotoole@mgeist@JJNicholl We usually agree on many things but this is not one of them. There is no way to enforce this unless the govt and internet providers know who is logging on and to what. An egregious invasion of privacy and govt overreach.
@FP_Champagne Oh go sit down by your bowl. How many times are we going to try these slush funds? May the 32nd time we’ll get lucky. Where is the start up cash coming from?
