🌞An Exciting Summer Ahead!🌞
I have an ambitious goal of submitting 7 research papers by August!
I'll focus on my many "in preparation" drafts, some of which have been gathering a bit of dust, into polished, publishable work!
I am excitedto see these ideas come to fruition.
This was a necessary framing for me today. At what point does being a "good team-player" result in not considering your own needs, and even wants?
Personally, I don't need to learn to say "no" instead, I must learn not to offer myself despite my desires. They'll hire tomorrow...
Our Administration is partnering with Baby2Baby to launch a pilot program that provides maternal and newborn supply kits to low-income mothers.
I was thrilled to tour the LA facility - and together, we'll ensure moms have the resources they need to keep their families healthy.
#FlashbackFriday because I missed #TBT and also didn't post in real-time🙃But I was so excited to visit @AuburnU in-person last month to accept the Distinguished Dissertation Award from the @AUGradSchool! I was able to see my favorite Dean and Tiger! #WarEagle
Special thanks to my co-authors and @MathematicaNow who contributed supported the initiation of this research through their summer research fellow program! Every question, challenge, and suggestion made me think more creatively about the work, and definitely made it better!
While I'm here, let me mention that my qualifying doctoral research has now been published! This was an exciting project that definitely stretched me, but I am so glad that it is now contributing to what we know about supporting adolescent mothers!

What a lovely evening! It is always a pleasure to fellowship with brilliant like-minded scholars! Thank you both for being such great hosts, I look forward to getting together again soon!
A great honor for Carolyn and I to finally meet our wonderful colleague, Dr. Jessica Norton (on the right), face-to-face. Jessica worked in 2021 at WestEd in our JPRC and is now a Fellow with the federal Office of Evaluation Sciences.
Shout out to Editors, Neil Wollman and Carolyn Love, for this collection, which just arrived yesterday. Delighted to contribute a chapter with my coauthors Jessica Norton and Pamela MacDougall on science and justice policy.

I defended my dissertation on 7/21/21. Nearly a year later, I am so honored to have my dissertation research acknowledged by @AUGradSchool! This award is motivation and encouragement for me to push forward with the work that I am passionate about! Happy Defense-iversary to me!
Congratulations to Dr. Jessica Norton (HDFS) and Dr. Swagata Chakraborty (CADS) for being selected as two of five winners of the 2022 Auburn University Graduate School Distinguished Dissertation Awards in Social Sciences.
I've had quite a difficult semester, personally and professionally! But I promised myself that I would have my feet back on the ground by May 1st; and I feel pretty good about getting things back on track! Just a reminder to give yourself some grace! Life happens, but #YouGotThis
I feel like holidays can either be productive or restful... I've given up on having both💁🏾♀️But I'm happy to report that in the past 2 weeks I've 1) submitted a manuscript 2) completed a R&R, 3) completed the analysis for a co-authored paper, 4) began drafting a new manuscript...
