Gus Varland was, well, Gus Varland last night going 2 scoreless in his Dodgers MLB Debut. He struck out 3 & was throwing a 91.6 mph slider with 39 inches of vert. & an FB touching 97.5. So, as he showed, his stuff is legit! He's allowed just 1 run in his last 11 innings. #dodgers

@whitesox This is not a bad pick up. The Sox have blown more leads after the 7th inning than they have wins. We need all bullpen arms we can get.

Didn't take Gus Varland long to get picked up on the waiver wire. The White Sox picked him up, and, with them, he'll have the opportunity he deserves. I say it all the time, getting DFA'd or traded from this org. is a blessing for many in the system because there is such little opportunity.

Varland made his MLB debut in Chicago, albeit at Wrigley, now is going to make the windy city home and is joining Nick Nastrini and Jordan Leasure as former Dodgers hurlers who are with CSW.

Go kill it Gus, been a pleasure getting to meet and talk with you over the years, we wish you the absolute best.
