Hi, I'm Felix. I'm an eng lead working on Claude. I love watching people take flight and do things they never thought possible.
We often describe that as "being more ambitious" when using AI, which is tricky advice to follow. I wrote a tutorial:

I'm once again reminding you that the low back extension is one of the best exercises for a strong and resilient body.
I used to deal with chronic low back pain in my 20s and 30s.
Part of my protocol was the McGill Big 3 (bird dog, McGill Crunch, side planks) to strengthen the muscles supporting my low back.
Then I used the back extension to strengthen the hips, glutes, and low back.
Just a word of warning: Overextending your low back on this machine will make things worse. Activate from the hips and glutes and don't go past activation.
2-3 sets of 6-10 reps are enough to keep my low back strong, healthy, and pain free for life.
RJ Mitte’s Breaking Bad co-star reveals how he tried to offer RJ Mitte a safe haven and a place to stay in his final days.
“I offered him to stay at my house with my son, just him and I, and told him, ‘Just come to my house, bro, and just reset yourself. Think clearly without people pulling you in every way.’”
“He had already been on the road for over a month. He said he had to go home, and so I made him promise to call me if he needed to talk. And he did. And I never got a call.”
“We talked about everything the situation. I said, ‘Just come to my house, bro, and stay with me.’”
“I want to say this time he was a little different. I could tell he was different, so to try to cheer him up I invited him to come, we tried to cheer him up, joke around like we always do.”
@TeamEvilLeft Long term unemployment literally damages your brain. I did remote college while unemployed through COVID and I can literally feel the difference in my brain. Everything feels weird and “heavy” now
explains well how when i did leetcode 3-4x a week for a few minutes during morning, or how when i was flashcard-maxxing and studying to pass tech certifications has improved my overall ability to focus at work and grad school
If you think screens have destroyed your focus beyond saving, you are wrong. it only takes a bit of effort to recover an attention span.
it's literally proven by science.
After 20min sessions solving cognitively challenging problems daily (10-20hrs total), students show significant gains in sustained focus and test scores.
Like physical stamina the mental stamina requires exercise.
Below I will give you examples on how to start doing it.
how I'm avoiding doomer mindset:
- focus on things I think are cool, not what other people say I should care about
- lean into social hobbies; you'd be surprised how many free events are hosted on the reg in so many different spaces!
- lean into festivities (makes you feel like a kid again)
- practice discipline every day :) little steps compound in your mindset
People don't understand how insanely high IQ Newton was. This is a man who had no background in math or algebra until he was ~20. In <3 years, Newton got himself to the frontier, then invented calculus, thought of the inverse square law, and the theory of colors & light. He was so intellectually superior he withdrew from the scientific community because he had no peers. Only when Halley was trying to calculate planets' motion by means of an inverse square law, he remembered he knew this old, extremely intelligent professor; he might be able to help him. When the problem was taken to Newton, he said "it's such and such." How do you know, asked Halley. "I proved it a couple of years ago." That's what led to The Principia; it was the exposition of what Newton had uncovered in his younger years and was lying around as a pile of private papers.
Survival guide for AI job-pocalypse:
- Do interesting things and have unique experiences to be exposed to and capture to unique data, experiences and viewpoints.
- Build friends and connections, raise up everyone around you. Organize & put yourself in environments with cool people you look up to. Mentor those behind you. Build platforms & tools for others to build upon.
- Share your work. Sell. Stand out. Learn to communicate. Embrace weird. Learn to scale this digitally.
- Go outside and build real things. The dream is a white picket fence, backyard, an in home gym, an in home content studio, and robotic manufacturing lab in the garage.
- Invest in assets. Make sure you update your investing plan vs the 60yr old strategy boomers taught you.
- Do everything you can to not be involved in paperwork and low value political rigamarole. Or go 110% to lobby and build the government. Pick one extreme. I don’t think this is worth the effort, better to build outside the system, and look to build better new forms of governance, but the old systems aren’t going away any time soon.
one of the biggest realisations i had as an adult was that i don't owe yesterday anything. every time that alarm goes off i can become someone new, and the only thing stopping me is myself.
The amount of nonsense on this app in the fitness space NEVER ceases to amaze
If all you’ve got is a set of Dumbbells and an Incline Bench….just do an Incline Dumbbell Bench Press FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
Way more effective than whatever this is
