I released an album! Links to various platforms are in the comments. The very short version is that it'll appeal to very few people (it's 5 improvised solo piano tracks spread across roughly 50 minutes). Important context that I welcome you to read in the photos in the next post.
I regret to inform you that Ask Jeeves is dead. The site closed yesterday. Web 1.0 lost another founder.

@OliverJia1014 Ooh, nice! My wife is Polish and they call it barszcz, I'm a big fan, haha. They also have one called bialy barszcz (bialy meaning white) which is also very good.
I think it's surprisingly nuanced. A lot of us (myself included) could be ultra mean to each other, but it always came across as more light-hearted. Even the absolutely brutal stuff. Like, the internet seemed meaner but less mean-spirited if that paradoxically makes sense.
Question for those alive during pre-internet or nascent internet days.
Were people actually kinder to each other overall before social media? I've always wondered if that was actually the case or just rose-tinted nostalgia talking considering how every era has social problems.
@OliverJia1014 People could be incredibly horrible to one another, but it kinda just brushed off most of us it seemed. Like, the intention felt somehow different back then.

@OliverJia1014 I finally watched Stalker last year, and was really blown away. Took me a full sessions to fully watch it (I had some things going on). I want to rewatch it one sitting soon and then finally dive into Tarkovsky's other films. Probably starting with this and Solaris.
@OliverJia1014 On to bigger and better things, my friend. I'm sure it's at least a little bittersweet, but you're going to keep killing it whatever you end up doing. I'm excited to eventually see your business endeavor! Give it your all. ^^
@misfitpatriot_ "I'll fight you IRL" is not sending the message you think it is, man. That shit stopped being cool in 2008. I don't even agree with his take here (or disagree with it fully), but this shit is corny as fuck.
@OliverJia1014 Sorry to hear that. I know it's hard to surmise via just text, but it sounds like you felt it was heading that way. It still sucks. But onto bigger and better things! I know you're gonna do great things with this business idea you've had. Keep kicking ass, man.
@OliverJia1014 Then I'd go all in on the business when you've spun things up. It sounds like you have an idea that's important or meaningful to you, so give it all you've got. If you don't want anything to do with the field you're in, a piece of paper won't make much of a difference. Good luck!
@OliverJia1014 how eager you must be to get your life started and not feel stuck in place, especially since you have a pretty firm idea what you want to/wanting to support your spouse. Since I'm unfamiliar with how these things work, especially abroad, is it something you could pick up later?
@OliverJia1014 Since you're still pretty young, you have tons of options. I will say that a PhD, even if you don't plan to immediately or ever do something in a related field with it, isn't a terrible thing to fall back on. Another year or so doesn't mean much in the scheme of life, but I know-

On bandcamp, this is a pay what you want download, you can also just stream it right on the site. I left it as a potential tip jar, but I don't expect anyone to pay for my music (especially this release, haha), only to potentially enjoy it.
