We’re all race fans, right? That means racing…green flag racing…right? Right???
I simply don’t understand the desire for less green flag racing. If that desire comes from low-quality racing, fix the car and/or package instead of creating two arbitrary pre-planned restarts.
To further this, my Fiancée is a casual f1 fan. She absolutely hates stages. She doesn't understand the point and the yellows take forever. She hates seeing the race get interrupted for anything other than a safety concern. Its just resting the playing field
If the only reason you watch is chaos, you probably don't really wanna watch a race. Sometimes there's no yellows and one guy whoops everybody's ass and that's okay. It's up to Radio and TV to tell the story and make it interesting. Which we used to do plenty.

If you get rid of stages and races start going green to checkers because there’s less attrition then ever before people will lose interest.
I’d rather stage cautions than mystery yellows for nothing or drivers throwing roll bar padding out the window.
@Dkota10__@Cloudy341Blade They all cut checks... that's how this works. Why would they stay if they knew they could just be outbid every year instead of just performance on track?
@_ItzAustin@StartAndParkCar Before, you could have 5 different strategies in once race based on so many things, which makes racing so much more interesting, especially at tracks where its hard to pass in general, like Indy in any NASCAR car.
I hate this idea it's a losing battle. We thought the same about playoffs and here we are. Stand for what we want. I think this is something a majority of the fan base wants, just like the extermination of the playoffs
In the current era where the fans get so much less on track time than ever before I don't know why we're still advocating for shorter races. Race was high attrition with a lot of yellows, no reason to shorten it going forward
The Stages... Just a losing battle at this point
@_ItzAustin@StartAndParkCar I just have to disagree. I like stage points, I hate manufactured yellows. We dont get to see a natural strategy playout and never get to see tires at the end of their life. The strategy is always the same... cut the stage in half or flip the stage if its a RC.
@trevor454545 If you disqualify someone for having an opinion, you are disqualified from the conversation. Just because YOU believe they are better doesn't make it majority. We did without stages and had our biggest viewership. Now we have all these gimmicks and we struggle to reach half.
The year is 2059. Half of the world is underwater due to climate change. We all live in the Metaverse. When I put on my VR headset, I receive a notification.

Stage breaks make the race longer. I would sacrifice viewing some green flag laps if they eliminated stage breaks and just awarded stage points.
Races do not need to be shortened.
