If you’re a grown ass man in full tactical gear asking a child to show you ID or proof of citizenship you failed at life. Utterly & completely failed. Loser.
@EmoMexic4n@ReadyLA Hi, it depends on how far north you are. For LA, the arrival time is around 1AM, and surges of waves could last through 10AM on Wednesday.
It's no surprise that the two areas experiencing the highest waves and impacts are Hilo & Kahului, Hawaii.
These are areas with coastline shapes that channel waters into a more confined area, and makes it easier for low-lying areas to be inundated.
Outside of these areas, we have not heard of any significant impacts elsewhere, outside of a few 1-5ft waves. We're still closely monitoring the Hawaiian tsunamis, and the state is not yet in the clear, but hopefully will be within the next 2-3 hours.
Just a reminder, a Tsunami Advisory remains in effect for the entire U.S. West Coast, with a Tsunami WARNING for the Northern California Coast.
Waves are beginning to reach the sites just offshore, with some at least minor tsunami impacts expected. Some moderate impacts are likely in localized areas.
The threat should end within the next 4-6 hours.
Flooded is being reported in Hilo after water levels increased nearly 10 feet in just a few minutes as tsunami waves pushed through.
Hilo Bay is notoriously the most susceptible city in Hawaii to tsunamis due to the shape of the bay which acts like a funnel, amplifying incoming tsunami waves.
Many more rounds of tsunami waves will occur throughout the night.
The tsunami has reached the California Coast, and is showing up in the Arena Cove, CA tide gauge and is making its way down the coast right now. https://t.co/sgdGtQjKxC
This is what a tsunami looks like at a tide gage, this is from Sand Island, Hawaii, you can see the water levels going up and down dramatically, very different from the typical water levels. #socal#cawx
@RiggedReality25 A tsunami wave height is very different than a general surf height, since the wave is so deep a 1 foot wave can have an incredible about of energy. They cause issues similar to large tides and large storm surge: ie. coastal flooding and dramatic water level changes in harbors.
@VoteLewko Gaza has no internet unless reporters trapped in the death camp borders still have eSIM cards. International media is banned from Gaza. Someone who went to journalism classes can show you how to find Gaza-based reporters with thousands of videos like this from dozens of angles.
The frontal system is slowing down currently, which may cause moderate to heavy rain rates to lingering for LA County until around 4-5 AM. This may increase impacts for morning rush hour. #CAwx#LArain
This can't be repeated enough:
Social Security does NOT add to the deficit or debt. Not one cent.
Anyone saying that Social Security needs to be cut to fix the budget is lying to you to take from you.
NOW: Anti-ICE protesters are blocking both sides of the 101 Freeway near the Alameda Street exit in DTLA. The CHP has since closed that portion of the freeway. Read more: https://t.co/K60ImdzmDi
