7 Months? We used to do it over a weekend. It was called a push/pull strategy. You pushed the old mainframe out of the way and pulled the new mainframe into place. IBM mainframes had a metric called timerons. If the new mainframe was faster, timerons allowed the chargeback algorithm to remain the same. Monthly billing did not change.
