Tesla Berlin is increasing its production capacity for Model Y this year by 50% from 5k to 7.5k weekly. Orders are strong, delivery times are 5-6 months. Model 3 comes from Shanghai production with Shanghai running at or above its 1m annual capacity, export demand being the main driver. Demand is strong, capacity catching up. European car buyers are leaning into cheaper models and shorter delivery times from alternatives as a response high fuel prices.
@alojoh BEV comparison of BYD and Tesla. BYD’s Europe surge in 2026 is a hybrid-led brand-share story, not a BEV takeover. Tesla is still clearly ahead on battery-electric registrations.
Munger pushed BYD, not exactly known for transparency, abusing suppliers and questionable financing. Ok they made an impressive return, but the same investment into Tesla would have yielded 5-6x return! I am not convinced that BYD was a wiser or more appropriate investment that Tesla. Too easy of Munger IMHO
@ChrisWillx@friedberg@friedberg great fan, deep into agriculture, it was Birkeland-Eyde process first that lead to Norsk Hydro (today Yara), not Frank-Caro who was first with the first industrial process to extract/fix nitrogen from the air. Any way, thanks for all that you do.
@lindayaX@ThomasSowell I live with the indigenous peoples of the Palaw’an tribe in the Philippines, they among the wisest, knowing right from wrong. I learned so much from them. Agree, I have seen it more and more in life!
@alojoh@BYDCompany I can’t help but wonder if Warren Buffett could come around to investing in Tesla one day, although all my instincts tell me he is not there yet 🤔
