Mostly soccer thoughts.

“Whoa, are those chocolate smarties? Not sure if we have any open intl slots to keep those.”

[Tom Bogert @tombogert]

i picture @andrew_wiebe sorting his sons’ halloween candy into a metaphor for MLS roster rules

“sorry bud you can only pick three of your favorites then you need to find value at the bottom of your bag to fill out your roster. no, you don’t have enough allocation money for BOTH”

[Alex K. @Not_AlexK]

@andrew_wiebe This one wins 😂

[Alex K. @Not_AlexK]

*pulls out a baked good*

“Ope - mom and dad will take this one buddy. This is why you have to do your research for the college (draft) block.”

@JeremiahOshan Is that stat Per Shot eXpected Goals? That feels like the GK equivalent of WAR

[Alex K. @Not_AlexK]

@DanielWoodiwiss @NCAAFNation247 No it looks like they picked Miami

[Alex K. @Not_AlexK]

@BayernAusBama Hey leave Wisconsin out of this

[Alex K. @Not_AlexK]

Tiafoe 🤦🏼‍♂️ man can’t get out of his own way

[Alex K. @Not_AlexK]

@SheaSerrano Mmmm tough comparison. Every basketball shot is generally taken from the same position of the body where soccer shots come in a variety of positions.

Free kicks would probably be the closest comparison @DanielWoodiwiss

“Sell me on the downside” he asked two former attackers, about an attacker-friendly rule change 🤡

[Alex K. @Not_AlexK]

Purists would hate it initially but it’d be hard to convince me this wouldn’t create a more open, entertaining game.

Deeper defensive lines, more space for the attack to operate, rewards aggressive runs behind the line.

Sell me on the downside,
@TaylorTwellman @herculezg.

[CentreGoals. @centregoals]

🚨🚨| NEW: FIFA will test a new offside law, where the WHOLE body of the player must be in front of the defender for it to be ruled out.

The player below would NOT be offside using this rule. [DirectTVSports]

Them: “MLS is an unserious league with no pressure or stakes. How are 🇺🇸⚽️ fans expected to get behind this”

Also them: “I can’t believe this MLS team won’t sell their best striker midway thru their best season in club history. How are 🇺🇸⚽️ fans expected to get behind this”

[Kranks @dis_possessed]

More and more players are going to bypass MLS if MLS teams and the league keep holding them hostage. Look for them to go to Europe from MLSNext Pro and USL instead. These players have short careers and small windows to accomplish their dreams. Be better, Cincinnati and MLS.

[Alex K. @Not_AlexK]

@MaybeBard Jackmar Ragdrade for sure

[Alex K. @Not_AlexK]

@MattLesky @jeremywball 1000x yes.

[Alex K. @Not_AlexK]

Respect the effort USSF ✊🏼

When my ex and I broke up, I too tried to shoot my shot and ask out @alexmorgan13 a week later.

Then we got back together and it was a disaster but I’m sure it’ll work out better for you.

THREAD: USMNT coaching search and Berhalter's return

The reports of USSF contacting Zidane were accurate per @BonaguraESPN. USSF contacted him "roughly a week after Berhalter's contract expired" w/ the 🇫🇷 legend ultimately rejecting the approach.

#USMNT #USSF #Zidane #Berhalter

[Alex K. @Not_AlexK]

@11Yanks I hope the league never gets to the point where players feel like they’re getting crucified after a loss.

Same pressure in Mexico, and that’s clearly helping the national team.

Let Europe and Mexico keep the worst parts of footballing fan culture.

Iconic Moment 🇺🇸

[ESPN FC @ESPNFC]

-2021 CONCACAF Nations League Final
-2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final
-2022 World Cup Qualifying
-2023 CONCACAF Nations League Semifinal

The USMNT with another big result over Mexico 😤

@MKE_ProSoccer It’s in the iron district and the city runs of steam.
Give me something unique and niche with an ode to MKE’s history: Steam City Soccer Club (SCSC)

[Alex K. @Not_AlexK]

@DanielWoodiwiss Cool I was literally about to reply to your bears tweet with this. Cool cool cool.
