@MattZeitlin If everyone has a disability, then nobody does. But we cannot seem to have conversations about the massive increase in autism and ADHD diagnoses w/o people turning into RFK-style quacks blaming vaccines or 5G or whatever slop they recently found. We need real, rigorous research.
@daveweigel Exactly, we tried go high when Trump defaced our political discourse and country. Now, we are all in the abyss Trump created. No more nice guy.
@Guillermo_UC_@CrackTheSkyeee@on3 I know they are fun, but honestly they should NOT do any preseason rankings. The voters cannot untether themselves from them even as the season goes on
@CrackTheSkyeee@Guillermo_UC_@on3 Rankings need to be based on results, not "hype" or projections. The full body of work. Early season losses should matter just as much as later ones
@on3 Lol until these rankings are based on actual results and not on preseason hype, they will continue to suck. I'm a UT alum but Texas (and Penn State) should NOT be anywhere near the top 10. Who cares if they had hype, they've beaten NO ONE.
@Zoomer_Doomer_ I agree except impeaching Thomas and Alito is useless. I also think Democrats need to use the machinery Trump has created for one year to undo damages by pursuing any criminal charges still available, impounding ICE $, etc. Then year 2, they need to cut presidential power perm.
@KonnerKent5 @TabaskoSweet We're not mocking him or saying violence is okay. But he was a piece of shit person with abhorrent views and values, and we will not eulogize him or bend to your right-wing totalitarianism.
@StatisticUrban I can absolutely understand preferring the West's temperate weather. Objectively, San Diego's almost year-round 70 degree weather is probably the best. But as a native Southerner, anyone preferring Southern climate needs to get their head checked. Pervasive heat + humidity is BAD
@BriannaWu Israel does not = Judaism. This is a big factor causing this resurgence of horrific antisemitism in the United States. There are millions of American Jews in our country, and by tying them to a foreign government thousands of miles away committing war crimes, we endanger them.
@DrewSav Somewhere else. That's how you know the crime fearmongering is a media-driven phenomenon. People perceive a lot of crime but elsewhere (because they rarely experience it) because of the 30 years of insane coverage on local TV and throughout national media
@DrewSav The entire GOP ethos is built around the promotion of shoddy anecdotes that feed hysterical emotional reactions: a high-profile crime, a bad person who happens to be an immigrant, a transgender athlete who wins an event, a person who claims a negative experience with a vaccine.
@agraybee Do voters not understand what they've incentivized? Democrats bent over backwards for unions to promote their interests and dying jobs over the benefit of everyone else. And we got a middle finger back. Time for the Democrats to become the party of the American consumer.
@micah_erfan Hot take: incel ideology is an intrasexual mechanism clearing out competition for the best women. Go to a graduate school class: most are predominantly women. Thankfully almost none of them will date some dipshit man who can't read and who doesn't believe in equality.
@minarchis1@nominalthoughts No, they didn't. Biden's appointed Lina Khan and bailed out the Teamsters and no one cared. We need to accept that many dumb workers are primarily socially neanderthalic voters who think the Democratic Party is the party of women, gay people, and minorities so they vote GOP.
@maxtmcc Yeah and keeping the entirety of Guadalupe County in that district makes it even more susceptible to left-ward movement. It's the second largest county in that district, with many suburban areas in the NW part of the county, and trended left until 2024.
@sahilkapur The Democrats proposed HR1 from 2019-2022 to end partisan gerrymandering, but the GOP filibustered it in the Senate. Until we have federal action, we aren't going to unilaterally disarm against the frothing-at-the mouth fascist GOP
@OsitaNwanevu I'm pro-Palestine, but I disagree. The problem with the student protests is that it turned the conversation to them and domestic issues (and let Fox and bad faith actors make it about themselves). The focus needs to be on Gaza, not privileged kids from a top university
