This is completely false.

On December 8, 2024, with IAF jets conducting 100s of strikes across #Syria, IDF ground forces invaded SW #Syria, crossing over the 1974 lines & establishing positions that resulted in the de facto occupation of ~220sqkm of Syrian land.

Senior Israeli officials have repeatedly acknowledged this since — describing the operation as a preemptive one aimed at building a deeper “buffer” or “secured zone.”

In a very short period of time, Syria has taken historic steps toward peace and prosperity, working with the United States to implement President Trump’s regional agenda and countering terrorism. Secretary Rubio correctly identified that Syria is meeting & exceeding all requirements. SST must be lifted and I look forward to engaging the @StateDept to downgrade the travel advisory to reflect the current reality, allowing for stabilizing investment and tourism. Heartbreaking to hear confirmation that #Syrian dentist & chess player Rania al-Abassi was murdered by #Assad’s regime along with her husband & 6 children, aged 2-14.

Her husband died by torture (confirmed in #Caesar files).

Rania & the kids were murdered for Rania’s aid work.
