Baloch students are facing a serious challenge in this alarming period. This deliberate act of illegal acts and intimidation, marked by unstoppable numbers of enforced disappearances, is not only condemnable but highly concerning. We have always deemed such acts as unlawful and inhumane in nature and have condemned them in many cases. We believe that such conduct creates an atmosphere of fear among Baloch society, which is a clear violation of democratic practice.

بلوچستان میں تعلیم کی زبوں حالی سے ہر ذی شعور شخص واقف ہے، جو سالوں سے بلوچ عوام کی قسمت کا حصہ بن چکی ہے۔ اس جدید دور میں بھی بلوچستان میں شرحِ خواندگی چالیس فیصد سے آگے نہیں بڑھ رہی۔ بہت سے علاقوں میں بڑی تعداد میں بچے اسکولوں سے باہر ہیں۔ اس کی وجہ ایک طرف جہاں اسکولوں کی تالابندی ہے، وہیں دوسری جانب ان میں بنیادی سہولیات کی عدم دستیابی بھی ہے۔ اس کے باوجود محنتی بلوچ نوجوان اپنی تعلیم جاری رکھنے کے لیے دیگر ذرائع استعمال کرنے کی خواہش رکھتے ہیں۔ ان ذرائع میں سے ایک اہم سہولت لائبریریاں ہیں، جہاں جا کر طلبہ اپنی تعلیمی ضروریات پوری کرتے ہیں۔ لیکن اسکولوں اور کالجوں کے بعد اب لائبریریاں بھی یا تو بند ہیں یا مکمل طور پر غیر فعال ہو چکی ہیں۔ حکومتی عدم توجہی اور ضلعی انتظامیہ کی بدانتظامی اور بے ضابطگی نے ان لائبریریوں کو تباہی کے دہانے پر لا کھڑا کیا ہے۔

بلوچستان میں لائبریریاں پہلے ہی نہ ہونے کے برابر ہیں۔ ایک طرف جہاں متعدد علاقوں میں لائبریریوں کا نام و نشان تک نہیں اور ان کی عمارتیں بھی وجود نہیں رکھتیں، وہیں دوسری طرف پچھلے کچھ سالوں سے قائم پبلک لائبریریوں میں چوری اور توڑ پھوڑ کے واقعات کے بعد انہیں بند کر دیا گیا ہے۔ ان کی واضح مثال مستونگ اور قلات میں لائبریریوں میں چوری اور توڑ پھوڑ کے رونما ہونے والے واقعات ہیں۔ ہم سمجھتے ہیں کہ یہ سب ایک سوچی سمجھی سازش کے تحت کیا جا رہا ہے تاکہ بلوچ طلبہ تعلیمی سہولیات سے محروم رہیں۔ یہ حکومتی بدنیتی کا ثبوت ہے کہ آج تک ایک بھی ملزم کی گرفتاری عمل میں نہیں لائی گئی۔ واضح رہے کہ ہم نے بارہا حکومت کو اس جانب متوجہ کرنے کی کوشش کی ہے، لیکن افسوس کے ساتھ کہنا پڑتا ہے کہ ان لائبریریوں کو بحال کرنا تو دور کی بات، جو لائبریریاں پہلے سے موجود ہیں انہیں بھی بند کیا جا رہا ہے۔ ان میں سے ایک نصیر آباد پبلک لائبریری بھی پچھلے کئی مہینوں سے بند پڑی ہے، جہاں نہ بیٹھنے کا کوئی انتظام ہے اور نہ ہی بجلی اور پنکھوں کی سہولت موجود ہے۔ نصیر آباد جیسے گرم ترین علاقے میں ان سہولیات کا نہ ہونا لائبریری کو عملًا بند کرنے کے مترادف ہے۔ اسی طرح پورے ضلع خاران میں صرف ایک لائبریری ہے، جو کہ محض ایک کمرے پر مشتمل ہے اور تمام تر بنیادی سہولیات سے محروم ہے۔ وہاں نہ بیٹھنے کا مناسب انتظام ہے اور نہ ہی بجلی یا دیگر سہولیات میسر ہیں۔ اسی ایک کمرے کے ایک چھوٹے سے کونے میں طالبات بھی پڑھتی ہیں۔ ان کے لیے ایک الگ لائبریری کی عمارت منظور تو ہوئی ہے، لیکن آج تک اس کی بنیاد نہیں رکھی جا سکی۔ مزید برآں، کراچی کے بلوچ علاقوں خاص لیاری، لیمارکیٹ اور ملیر میں لائبریریز یا تو بند کئے گئے ہیں یا پھر کمیونٹی حال اور بوکسنگ کلبز میں تبدیل کروائے گئے ہیں، جوکہ انتہائی قابِل افسوس ہے۔

ہم بند اور غیر فعال لائبریریوں کی بحالی سمیت پہلے سے موجود لائبریریوں میں سہولیات کے فقدان پر اپنی سخت تشویش کا اظہار کرتے ہیں اور اسے تعلیم دشمنی سمجھتے ہیں۔ ہم میڈیا کے توسط سے بلوچستان میں نئی لائبریریوں کے قیام، بند اور غیر فعال لائبریریوں کی بحالی اور سہولیات کی فراہمی کے لیے ”بلوچستان لائبریری مہم“ کے نام سے ایک لائبریری کیمپئن کا آغاز کررہے ہیں۔ اس مہم کے ذریعے ہم حکومتِ وقت سے اپیل کرتے ہیں کہ وہ لائبریریوں کی فعال سازی اور درپیش مسائل کے حل کے لیے فوری اور جدّی فیصلہ سازی کرے۔

Such acts reflect a growing sense of insecurity and fear regarding the safety of political activists. In the past few days, many activists, including students, have been subjected to enforced disappearances, which is condemnable.

Baloch literacy campaign highlights the alarming condition of the Government Girls Primary School of Lango Abad, Kadkocha, located in Mastung district of Balochistan.

The school faces severe shortages of essential resources necessary for a school to function on proper basis. The said primary school’s construction is stalled for a year since its foundation by the authorities. As a result, the infrastructure lacks proper boundaries, class rooms, and basic furnitures required for a well-equipped educational environment. Due to the absence of furnitures, the teachers are forced to teach their students on floor mats. Currently, the students attend their classes without textbooks, black/white boards, and fans. Moreover, the school lacks complete electricity. The school’s current conditions illustrates conditions which are divorced from the very criteria of a school and a learning environment. Despite such harsh circumstances, the students still attend their academic activities in such conditions.

Baloch Students Action Committee (@BSAC_org), through Baloch Literacy Campaign (BLC), draws attention to the current conditions of the aforementioned primary school and calls on the authorities to resume the construction of the school on immediate basis to ensure the providing of quality education for the students of the area.

Baloch Literacy Campaign highlights the poor conditions of the Government Primary School Lango Abad, Kad Koocha, located in Mastung district of Balochistan. The primary school of Lango Abad has over 50 enrolled students, yet there is a severe shortage of fundamental necessities. The students do not have sufficient textbooks to meet their needs for their educational growth.

In the said school the classrooms lack the essential elements needed for a proper learning environment. There is no furniture, and students are forced to sit on the already damaged floor. Additionally, the conditions in the second classroom are far worse than in the first class. Meanwhile, the classroom windows are damaged, and the wirings of the class are exposed, posing a significant risk to the students.

The school’s boundary wall is on the verge of collapse, putting the lives of the young children at serious risk. Although the locals of the residents have repaired one section of the wall out of their own pockets but the wall remains in a critical condition.

The Baloch Literacy Campaign (BLC) highlights the deteriorating conditions at the Government Primary School, Nokar Khan, Khadkocha in Mastung.
The school is a central hub for most of the town's students, but it lacks the basic facilities, causing various problems for students.

The institutions’ students are not provided with any textbooks necessary for their studies, creating an academic hurdle. The school’s infrastructure is also in an unfortunate state. The classrooms have no chairs or desks, nor any other basic resources, forcing students to sit on the floor for their studies. The School’s wall has completely fallen, and the building has many cracks, which could lead to a serious situation.
There is no facility of clean drinking water forcing the students to drink unsafe water. The school lacks electricity and fans, and the school’s toilets are in a condition of non functionality.
