@THESADDESTCORE@monomodal The argument centers on how you portrait it, I believe.
It's reasonable to appear in horror because it's there to show how horrible the act is, but production may try to frame the scene to please weird people under the *excuse* of horror (wich IS offensive).
Otherwise? Not rlly.
@starlittlesheep "You don't understand X"
Then proceeds to not elaborate on how it works. It's reasonable to assume you don't understand either.
Do elaborate, are non profits isolated bubbles that have no impact in society in such a way that their actions are exempted from consequences?
@gatoradepilled@Amorudosmonster Im falling for rage bait again oh no.
You can report these people on Twitter. You will not receive a message from the coward AO3 support system saying "actually offensive content is not against our guidelines, so go suffer. <3"
Not defending tt, AO3 is just worse.
@ms_fairybomb Huh? I thought book authors were being motivated to publish books more now than ever with the booktok thing, how easy it has become to print books and all.
How weird. It is as if everything has to become a movie somehow.
@ms_fairybomb At this point saying fiction is unrelated to reality is like saying orange juice isn't related to orages.
DUDE THE JUICE CAME FROM THE FRUIT.
(I love analogies, sorry)
@ms_fairybomb It's cuz they think when you say "fiction affects reality" you're saying that if they draw a rat dying, a real rat dies. Not that drawing dead rats will encourage people to kill rats.
I.E: fiction doesn't affect reality alone but it affects people. And people affect reality
Something really funny i found these days was ppl complaining about the content forbidden by card processing networks use policies
I'm aware it's lashing out on innocent NSFW content too, but there's just so much ppl complaining about how their cnc content got demonetized, bfr.
@ms_fairybomb I didn't and I still didn't pull moves like that cause I was very aware I barely knew how to read. These ones definitely have a circle of friends (prob older kids) backing them up or something.
Almost funny how parents can never bother to stop their children from bullying people.
@axolotian@purity_culture I've seen mainly the trivialization of sexual assault, homophobia and violence in general by works of fiction that don't treat those sensitive topics with the respect they deserve. Nothing wrong about doing it in private to cope, but when you publish it you have to be responsible
@st_hyaku Yeah.. could be that they just didn't like X or Y so they banned the whole thing. Either way, they're just setting boundaries, it doesn't inherently mean they think they're above anyone, discussing this stuff turns out to be pretty taxing for everyone involved after all.
@MetaBeatle@purity_culture It doesn't, don't worry!
I mentioned MAPs cause they're one example of ill intentioned people that tend to bleed inside this community, and frankly cuz I was upset.
It really depends on your definition of "proship", some people draw the line at the right spot, some people don't..
@Fates_End@KimbleeFucker It's what happens when you're in the internet in general, apparently. You get harassed and called names. Im sorry for that. It's just upsetting seeing that happen in real time.
I dunno. Everyone i've discussed this with seems to have some valid points here and there.
@fadedparchments That would explain it... I can never form an informed opinion on this cause dark romance's definition changes all the time?? But that's internet, I suppose.
(Your take is the best one I've seen up to now, imo.)
@closetdarkworld@skulltyps I dunno, I only checked for Alex in case I were to spread misinformation, but probably!!
Minecraft avatars were intended to be gender neutral during creation by Notch, if Mojang made any changes to that, in unaware.
@ms_fairybomb Ya ya, you make sense.
Personally i think that if this movie uses more than a 15 million budget, it's not going to get that much profit back.
Movie tickets and locomotion to theaters are not as cheap as DR virtual books, most ppl are going to pirate ts.
