@Mr_Rablin @DingleTeach I would LOVE to be a part of that conversation!! Bring it on! So tell me, have you seen the other students’ work? What makes you think they don’t deserve an A as well? Do you have the password to the principal’s grade book account?? That’s the only logical explanation.
@offgridteacher@DrKChilds@buchananshelle3 I completely agree @offgridteacher Anxiety causes intelligent educators to do some, let’s just say, NOT intelligent things in order to close the gaps. When all research points the opposite way!!Kids aren’t their test scores.
@DrKChilds@buchananshelle3@offgridteacher After having authentic experiences and responding to them, my educated guess is, when the students “return to REAL school” they will be more prepared for grade level content than their counterparts who experienced “learning loss” summer school. Just my 2 cents...
@DrKChilds@buchananshelle3@offgridteacher So if we HAVE to use funds for summer school, let’s make them count. Let’s spend it on experiences. Let’s go on field trips (if that’s possible), and have a completely enriching summer school curriculum. NO “closing the gaps” or “learning loss” talk.
@Mr_Harris_Math Have you been doing a lot of counting backwards lately? When my kids are in the midst of learning to counting back, they project the 3 because that’s what they “say” after 4 when counting back. Developmentally akin to overusing a past tense when first learning it-“goed”= went
@MsCastillosMath@LynnDenault@pwharris On Pam’s blog. There are sorting activities to do with teachers as well. Very powerful for opening conversations about this, even with the most reluctant teachers.
@RandySwift9@mburnsmath I totally agree! And I feel like I’m fighting the same battle, over and over... and over... no one ever wins... but I’m not losing either!!
So much kindness in the world... This dolphin was stuck and it could've died without help!😱 Bless them for their kind heart! People with feelings for animals are beautiful souls! The dolphin will remember!
