Newly Qualified Nurse๐ฉโโ๏ธ. Living with GAD๐. Currently working in a ๐จ. Would love to eventually work in community care๐๐. #ItsOkNotToBeOk ๐
Living with GAD really isnt any fun๐ฅด I have been stressing for an hour because ive had to ring my GP twice today due to issues with my fitness to work note and I didn't want to annoy her because I really like her๐คฆโโ๏ธ
I don't like the term upskilling. I have trained 100's of staff to work in ICU in recent weeks - many of whom have so many skills that I can't imagine. It is not upskilling, it is a whole other skill set, 'other skilling' or 'cross skilling' may be closer to the mark #BACCN
Would love to be able to speak with my GP about a long term physical health condition that I am currently experiencing a flare up of without them dismissing my pain because I have GAD ๐คจ
So, I called my GPs back and asked to speak to another doctor. And wow. I have never felt so supported and understood in my entire life๐ what an incredible person!
Just a reminder to be mindful about speaking to people with a MH label- please dont make us feel like our feelings/thoughts or opinions are invalid because of the label we've been given.
@Elladora_Hooch @Annaj9267 @MindCharity I entirely agree! Please think before you type. This kind of mindset can be incredibly damaging to others. I'm so sorry you experience/d the horrendous trauma you did & do, but this does not make anyone else's experiences any less.
โIโm slightly anxious at the best of times, and it is tough to have lost many of my ways of self-managing that.'

@TulsiF Today's been very difficult for me now the reality of the situation has sunk in. A kind nurse who ive met through twitter has given me some options to help me which is fab๐ but sadly im receiving very little support from my area- take care x
