We the faculty of IIT Bombay express condolences to the family of the student but will stand by our colleagues Prof. Doolla, who has been named in the FIR along with other institute officials. We are
absolutely distressed at the damage done to his reputation.

Genuinely saddening to see the way certain section of the student population has treated the director and other professors @iitbombay and I extend my solidarity to them! In appreciation of Indian academia👇
I know so many professors who could be living a very comfortable life abroad working on the cutting edge of their fields, but they choose to live here in accommodation equivalent to government staff quarters, salary equivalent to an entry level employee, - all to build institutions and make a difference. These are rare and exceptional individuals serving the country and should be treated as such.
Take the recent semiconductor push for example- its groundworks were laid by the academia, thanks to whom we’ve a base to build on top of today. Profs at IISc and IITB among others built research fabs, established connections with the industry, and have trained thousands of people to put India’s Semiconductor Mission in a position where folks like me are allowed to dream big even at an early age.
In spite of doing cutting edge nationally critical research, they also take up teaching responsibilities- credit for a lot of my interest in semiconductors goes to the prof who taught them to me, who went above and beyond to try to inculcate the same passion and curiosity he had in the subject to us.
Professors have also spent hours teaching me hands on beyond the classroom, simply because I expressed interest in a topic.
Beyond professionally, at times I was struggling with academics, multiple professors offered me advice, motivation and a listening ear to the problems I had with the education system.
And trust me, at least according to intent, all of this is a rule rather than the exception among them.
Regarding Prof. Shireesh Kedare in particular most students who had admin facing leadership positions describe him as being genuinely open-minded and concerned about student wellbeing. Also it is very easy to pass judgment, but hard to lead such a large, complex and critical institution while balancing the needs and incentives of all stakeholders.
Regardless of how you feel about them, all professors deserve to be treated with respect for both their age and the sacrifice they’ve made to serve us.
Even if you don’t believe that, they must at least be treated civilly, rather than disrespecting, mocking and humiliating the very people who’ve dedicated their lives to making an impact.
Of course there are some bad apples, but that is the case with everything and not the basis on which the community as a whole should be judged.
Prof. Kedare and others, you have my utmost respect for the work you’ve done and sacrifices you’ve made- I hope you reconsider your intention on resigning and I hope you know that there are a lot of students that really appreciate you all.
Hey @goibibo@GoibiboSupport , your app advertised hostels at ₹1 with code FLASH for new users between 12:00–12:15 AM, 14–16 Sept. I tried it repeatedly within the window on multiple hostels every time it said "not applicable at the moment." Misleading ad? Please fix this.

@Paras_137 But don't you know what that does to a delivery partner? What has he/she done that you are going to do this? He's just making a living from it, and you want that after one or two times Zomato suspends that rider or whatever, and someone's livelihood is gone. That's the lowest...
India's 5G towers run on chips from Taiwan. India's defence radars run on chips from America. India spent ₹300 crore and 18 years at IISc building the alternative. AGNIT Semiconductors is what that research finally became.
The technology is Gallium Nitride, and it is not the semiconductor you know. Silicon powers your phone. GaN powers what your phone connects to: the 5G base station on the rooftop, the fast charger on your desk, the radar on a fighter jet. GaN handles power and frequency in ways silicon cannot, and India, until AGNIT, was importing 100% of it.
Hareesh Chandrasekar did not invent GaN in a garage. He commercialised 18 years of research at IISc's Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering, funded by India's Ministry of Electronics and IT with approximately ₹300 crore. The research existed. Twenty-plus patents existed, covering the entire GaN value chain, before a single venture capital rupee arrived. AGNIT built a company on what Indian public money had already paid to create.
"This marks an extraordinary five-year journey," Chandrasekar said, "where we've pioneered Gallium Nitride technology to revolutionise specialised applications, augmenting traditional silicon."
AGNIT is India's only vertically integrated GaN semiconductor startup, building everything from the substrate to the final device in-house. It signed an MoU with the Ministry of Defence under iDEX to co-develop GaN RF transmitters. 3one4 Capital, which led the $3.5 million seed round, confirmed that AGNIT's chips have already been piloted on Indian strategic platforms.
Not in a lab. On deployed systems.
AGNIT has raised $7.4 million across two rounds. The 100,000-chip target is next.
India invested ₹300 crore in 18 years of research. AGNIT built the company. The chips are on Indian strategic systems. If India scales this to 100,000 units and beyond, GaN becomes the first semiconductor category where India is not in the import queue.
It is in the supply chain.
For generations, we've pushed the limits of what flight can do.
Yet moving goods still comes with a compromise. The sea takes weeks and flying costs too much. Somewhere along the way, the world got comfortable with waiting.
Today, we announce Eureka, our first aircraft. It takes off and lands on water, and it's designed to turn "in a few weeks" into "on the evening flight."
Break the surface.
At The Guild, we reject the notion that innovation is the only goal; our mission is to deliver better answers to the challenges we face.
For the first time in over 5 decades of rocketry, a new rocket engine cycle has been purpose-built. Built for total upper stage reusability.
The Full-flow Segregated Cooling Cycle (FSCC) was conceived through a powerful vision to unify the journey to orbit with the journey back. This bold decision propelled our team beyond the constraints of conventional engine architectures and led to a propulsion system uniquely designed for the complete lifecycle of a reusable upper stage.
Grounded in first-principles reasoning, every engineering decision is rooted in logic and clarity.
Presenting the FSCC.

This National Space Day marks three years since Chandrayaan-3 landed near the Moon’s south pole. 🌙
The mission was a defining milestone for India’s space programme, demonstrating what can be achieved when government, industry, and scientific institutions come together to push the boundaries of space exploration.
Three years on, that momentum continues across India’s growing space ecosystem. Pixxel’s Fireflies are studying Earth from Low Earth Orbit, capturing new insights into the planet we call home. The images here show Bengaluru, Delhi, and Pune, captured by our satellites.
From exploring the Moon to observing our own planet, each new capability takes us further in what we can see, understand, and achieve. 🛰️
August 23 A day that redefined India’s place among the stars
Happy National Space Day! Commemorating the historic lunar landing of Chandrayaan-3 and celebrating the bold future of Indian space technology
Together, let’s keep reaching higher
