Just started doing something productive for the first time this week. Got to try something to change that, cause it’s getting out of hand. At this point I’m becoming the anti-hustle guy
Man, after all the drama in recent weeks, it’s so weird to through a semi-calm Monday.
Yeah, sure OPEC cut production, but when will Saudi announce it was to stop UAE from going under (rising price of champagne is the cause).
It’s just too calm
So Hindenburg dropped their new report on Jack Dorsey’s Block. Apparently the Cash App is the go to for sex traffickers, “unbanked entrepreneurs” and the star of multiple songs. It’s also the (2nd) best place to impersonate someone.
Huh, sounds like Dorsey’s didn’t go original
Stop me if you heard it before. A bank loses 90% of its value, gets some funds to stop the bleeding. Turns out no one cares, the bleeding continues and discussions on intervention begin. Groundhog Day, First Republic edition, here we go. Now, let’s guess what happens next
So the question of this week seems to be, will First Republic be the next one to go? 37% down in the pre-market. $30bn didn’t do the trick, let’s hope Vanguard stays away from Bloomberg interviews. But honestly, wondering whether we’ll see a quick Credit Suisse repeat 👀
You might get bought by your local rival but at least:
- got 3x value they wanted
- showed middle finger actually delaying the whole thing first
- called the whole thing a merger in a press release
Credit Suisse shows us that it’s the little things that matter. And some pettiness
Thought that after the SVB situation, the weekend will be slightly calmer. Curious whether the leadership of Credit Suisse hopes UBS will be forced to raise their offer or what’s the strategy with the pushback
