@tchav24@ItsBlamed@priceacarter Mahomes started 8 seasons, won 3 SBs, got to two more and got to two AFCCGs. One bad season for the team does not define his career.
@priceacarter Agreed. This fanbase has a weird need to tear some down to prop up others. Mahomes being amazing doesn't make Reid or Veach trash. They can all be good along with Kelce, Jones and others. Acknowledging that Veach is good doesn't undercut Mahomes.
@priceacarter It probably depends on how much he's the beneficiary of being a RB likely to face lighter boxes than most. If there is a bit of Edgerrin James effect then that could help him quite a bit.
@kjonesy1587 1200 yards rushing, 350 to 450 receiving and 12 to 15 total touchdowns. I think he'll be the beneficiary of playing with Mahomes in a pass-heavy offense like Edgerrin James was with Manning.
@ConnorLedy@lexiosborne @Emmett21Johnson I hope you're right, but I'd be surprised if he out snaps Demarcado at least in the first 1/2 of the https://t.co/CzRAmgYwzz will get the bulk of 1st and 2nd down snaps and Demercado the bulk of 3rd down snaps, if I had to guess.EJ seeing a lot of snaps would be encouraging.
@Farzin21 I don't see it. If they keep 3 it'll be KW, Demercado and Emmitt. If they keep 4 they'd likely prioritize the youth, explosiveness, and upside of Smith over Hunt. If they have a few injuries I could see them calling him if he's available, however.
@Arrowhead_Adam A plodding run game that doesn't scare any DC vs. a potentially explosive run game is a big thing.
I suspect that along with a hopefully better OC and better WR/RB coaches should help the offense more than drafting a WR with pick 40 would have.
@tuckerdfranklin 2/2
2) They have better coaches who will hold them more accountable and coach them up better.
3) Having a respectable running game will either let them rush well or open up things for Mahomes.
4) They likely expect to have better OL availability compared to last year.
@tuckerdfranklin If they think that Rice is avoiding suspensions for the full year (and with him it's hard to tell if he'll avoid doing anything that gets him in trouble) then I can see the thought process that:
1) They had really bad luck in one-score games (the opposite of the year before)
1/2
@jmelto1@cdotharrison Agreed. 14M to a FA RB is a bigger investment than the 29th pick, IMO, yet if they had drafted a skill player at 29 then this narrative doesn't take hold.
@RealMNchiefsfan Maybe passing on DEs is at least a good sign that they are planning to sign someone like Cam Jordan, who kicks the DE need down the road a year or two.
@hbtCHIEFS Two dbs in round 1 while they have such an anemic pass rush? That'd be a choice. I'd rather they went CB, OT over CB, DB, although WR, DE or DE, WR would be my preference.
@Chiefs247365 They have a 1st round pick at LT, a 2nd round pick at LG, a top-paid C and RG and a middle of the road RT. RT is likely the weak link along the line, but the OL as a whole is a strength. Compared to DE, CB, and WR the OL seems like a very minor issue. I hope they take OT at 40
