2) modernization matters? Since when. they wrote the 2nd amendment when musket and bayonet ruled. But 2nd amendment doesn’t limit us bayonet and musket today.

@DLT1023 @NBCNews Nobody is changing the meaning… except maybe you. I’m saying that in 1898 the justices reviewed the congressional debate over the 14th amendment from the 1860s and it was specifically discussed as being inclusionary of immigrants children.

@DLT1023 @NBCNews Archives of the records of the debates in Congress directly contradict that position. Which is why the Supreme Court ruled as they did in US vs. Wong Kim Ark. Because the justices reviewed the debates congress had and what their intentions were when they passed it.
