This Thursday at 7pm The OCHM welcomes Jack Devine, Ocean City resident, CIA veteran and author of Good Hunting: An American Spymaster’s Story and Spymaster’s Prism: The Fight Against Russian Aggression. Devine will explore his career spanning more than three decades.
Jean Campbell opened the Chatterbox in 1937 and operated the iconic restaurant- “The Place Where Friends Meet to Eat”- until 1968.

Dr. Marcia Van Gilder Smith was the first female physician in Ocean City. Dr. Smith opened an office at 821 Wesley Avenue in 1924 at the age of 25. That same year, she was appointed beach surgeon for the Ocean City Beach Patrol.

The Shore Fast Line carried passengers between Ocean City and Atlantic City from 1907 to 1948. The trolley cars stopped at 8th and the Boardwalk right next to Doughty's Theater, which became the Village Theater in 1933.
A new exhibit (opening this spring) will explore the history of Ocean City's boardwalk theaters. The Moorlyn had its beginnings as Moore's Bowling Casino, which opened in 1905. The 1,625 seat Moorlyn Theater took the place of the bowling alley in 1922.
