@StanCollymore All your points are true and valid Stan; however it’s a great thing to wake up the USA to the fact that football (or soccer) is the greatest most entertaining game on the planet. Also makes them realise that you don’t have to score to be entertained.
@talkSPORT Born in 84 and R9 @Ronaldo is the best natural talent I’ve ever witnessed in my lifetime. Zidane not far behind. He could be standing still then sprinting half a second later. He had it all. If it wasn’t for his injuries, this wouldn’t even be up for discussion.
@Miniruks Genz getting worked up about such trivial nonsense/non-events and it’s no wonder that Gen has so many more mental health issues. Every menial matter matters just so much!
@celtic_ma1888 Forgetting where you're from" used to mean snobbery. Now it means... drinking wine at the football? You've set the bar so that any sign of success counts as betrayal, which traps working-class people in the very thing you claim to celebrate escaping
@mrdanwalker I get that Dan but as poor as Steve is at interviews; the timing of these interviews immediately after a game; even the half time ones with the assistant are incredibly ill-timed! At least give them time to digest what’s going on.
@rioferdy5 It’s the issue with 24/7 coverage like SkySports News and Talksport… naturally they run out of genuine stuff to talk about that they start spouting absolute unsubstantiated nonsense. We have the players to have won vs Ghana but we couldn’t break them down…simple as that?!
@amelia_tweetz The many Americans I worked with when working in London mentioned the main incentive for them was the same pay 💰 £ for more holiday entitlement as they only really got the occasional holiday back home in the States
@BasilTheGreat I agree on this one. If @benshephard@catdeeley were chatting to a bloke who was gushing about a female soccer player in a tight top there would be absolute outrage. Not saying there’s anything wrong with this lady saying all this but double standards/major cultural imbalance
@markschlereth Think you need to watch Rugby, not NFL where they’re padded left right and centre. You’re not going to get the kind of collisions you get in football (soccer) in NBA or Baseball I’m afraid; and concussion is a real issue in footy
@TfL You’d think in 2026, there’d be air conditioned tube carriages. You’re putting passengers who have to commute (particularly elderly) at risk of heatstroke or worse! Massive H&S issue
@ImpressionistAL I’m reserving judgement until after tonight’s game vs Uzbekistan, who’s defence is far worse than Austria’s. Messi can create chances by himself whereas Cristiano appears to be goal hanging, which is natural; as he’s about 2 and bit years older; so he’s leggy
@spencermorgan93 Ps. I do favor Cristiano vs Messi; but as a neutral when it comes to Portugal and Argentina; we have to look at their performances objectively not subjectively. There is no Messi vs Ronaldo; they’re two completely different players with different styles of play
@spencermorgan93 If Austria’s (ranked 24th in World by FIFA) defending is comical, then Cristiano vs Uzbekistan’s (ranked 50th by FIFA) defence should be a breeze this evening! I reckon it’s his chance to actually go on par with Messi this evening. The Uzbek team is awful
Embarrassing. @Wimbledon gives 44 year old Serena Williams a singles wild card. She's not played a singles match in 4 years and not won a match at Wimbledon for 7 years.
This makes Dan Evans decision not to get a WC even worse. Williams guaranteed £80,000 win or lose her match,
Tuchel shift from Chelsea playing Vargas (#Bond) villain in Thunderball back in the 60s to #England#Worldcup coach is a remarkable journey; not least as he’s actually 98 years of age based on his one and only starring role in a movie @007#tuchel
