What makes life as a man with autism such a living hell is having to constantly worry about your naturally anxious mannerisms being seen as creepy, which then exacerbates said anxious mannerisms, leading you into a feedback loop.
We're not "allowed to be somewhat quiet and awkward," we're discouraged from even trying "to be talkative and outgoing." Solitude is a comfort zone for us, but it's much more so a cage.
>put myself "out there"
>nothing happens
>nobody talks to me
>try other places
>nobodies there, everyone's old, etc, etc
People are imagining that a man can will into being something that they never had to do on their own.
Oftentimes there's nothing.
