The OFL will be hosting a Worth Fighting For Canvass from 10:00am to 12:00pm and then hosting a Labour BBQ from 12:00pm to 3:00pm! All events will be at Sam Manson Park, 80 Nash Rd N.

OFL officers, Laura Walton, Ahmad Gaied and Michael Hamilton were on the line this morning to support West Jet workers! One would think that the airline industry would recognize the need to pay workers for all time worked! Just a year ago Air Canada workers went on strike over the same issue!

A little rain could not dampen the spirit of these workers who chanted
“Its raining, its pouring, the billionaires are hoarding”
Lines are up in Ottawa, London, Hamilton and Waterloo in addition to Toronto. Show up and support.

Young Workers Conference: Power in your hands

If you are a young worker in a precarious or non-unionized employment situation and are looking to better understand the role unions play in improving working conditions, protecting workers’ rights, and building power in the workplace.

This is an important opportunity to introduce young workers to the strength and diversity of Ontario’s unions, answer questions about union membership and organizing, and help them better understand the pathways available to workers seeking support in non-unionized workplaces.

The Canadian Labour Congress - Ontario Region Women's Summer school wrapped today!

President Laura Walton provided closing remarks empowering attendees to use their voice, take up space and support each other!

The closing panel moderated by Heather Erlen, brought Toronto City councillor candidate Chiara Padovani, Hamilton City councillor Nrinder N. K. Nann and Laura to discuss the importance of Women and Gender Diverse voices in Municipal leadership in order to build the communities we need.
