He was a young US Marine (Sgt. William C. Wold) interviewed during the 2004 Battle of Fallujah. He survived intense combat, having killed several insurgents and lost friends, but returned home with severe PTSD. He reenlisted hoping for help, was prescribed multiple meds for depression/anxiety, and struggled with nightmares and harassment from peers. He died at 23 on Nov 10, 2006, at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs (methadone toxicity combined with others like Prozac). Autopsy ruled it accidental.
