Last week, the Ohio House passed my bill, HB 116, with strong bipartisan support. It protects self-custody of a person’s digital assets, removes capital gains tax on crypto payments under $200, and ensures fair treatment of Bitcoin mining. In Ohio, we’re proud to lead, not follow, on innovation!

Ohio has introduced SB 57 titled ‘Enact the Ohio Bitcoin Reserve Act’ which will allow Ohio citizens to pay taxes with #Bitcoin, authorizes state investment in Bitcoin and sets up the Ohio Bitcoin Investment Fund.

This compliments HB 18 introduced by @steve4ohiohouse!

This bill would allow the Ohio Treasurer to create and administer a Bitcoin reserve fund and invest in Bitcoin as a strategic asset.

I look forward to working with the legislature and state government in 2025 to ensure this becomes a reality!
