@MaxGhenis This is wrong. With training most people can point their eyes out parallel (or even slightly wider), while focusing on arbitrarily close objects. This is how “MagicEye” books work, and is also used to free view some 3D photos.
My custom DMM can now report the difference between "0 Volts - they're floating" and "0 Volts - same potential."
Pretty stoked to get this working. Should save a lot of "is it 0v or am I measuring in the wrong place?" when troubleshooting.

@TheStalwart It’s the wrong question. That’s like asking if digital cameras were useful for professional photographers before the portrait industry got killed.
Right question: “We had people attempt to write a simple program. Some had access to AI. Who did better?”
Just got calibrated voltage references for my DMMs. Now I can officially know how accurate they are. I also modded one of my PCBs to work with 3.3vdc boards (level shifting the SDA/SLC lines). Now have an Arduino Giga version, where I can plot the voltage readings.
@mungowitz The article I read didn’t specify the grid mechanics here, but this isn’t necessarily true. You could easily have direct power-plant-to-data-center transmission without connecting to the overall grid.
@patio11 Have you written about giving an allowance to your kid(s)? Both in general but also specifically about dealing with the frictions inherent in either a cash or spreadsheet system?
@Hilbe You’d have to dismantle them to an obnoxious degree to get to the motors for seat adjustment, but if you did that you could adjust them as well.
@HSI_TV It’s boring, but in the best possible way. Smooth and quiet but with plenty of power if you want it, at least in a straight line. Definitely not sporty and it doesn’t encourage speed on turns. Rather large turn radius but that only really matters for tight parking lots.
@HSI_TV I have a Ridgeline. I don’t regret buying it but it has a very “Jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none” feel. The bed is very useful every now and then, but even with a cover there’s a lack of security/ weatherproofing. I think I would’ve been happier with a small SUV.
