Cherry class enjoyed playing a place value memory game in maths today! Remembering their partners 6 digit number in addition to finding the correct counters proved harder than we first thought. ✨ #ojsmaths

What wonderful artists we have in Pine class! We have been investigating using charcoal so that we can incorporate it into our mixed media pieces in the style of Marc Chagall!🎨🖌

Silver Birch are enjoying an afternoon creating art work in the style of Marc Chagall. We are already including elements of surrealism, animal faces and aspects of cubism. 🖌🍎🎨

Cherry class enjoyed being back to back artists this afternoon! We took it in turns to describe and draw one of Marc Chagall’s paintings so we could begin to understand how he uses fantasy elements in his work.👩‍🎨👨‍🎨

Silver Birch enjoyed our computing lesson this afternoon. We worked well in our groups and showed great teamwork ⭐️

Our companies are hard at work preparing their pitches ready to present for our ‘Dragon’s Den’ inspired presentations! They have designed multifunctional navigational tools for an Australian company within DT this week!🧭📈💰

Silver Birch are now using CAD to transform our designs into 3D models. We are showing excellent teamwork skills and great knowledge of Tinkercad.

Silver Birch have been busy creating multifunctional devices for our ‘Dragons Den’ DT week. We have coded microbits to include a cardinal compass, a pedometer and a flashlight. We have tested and evaluated our microbits and are pleased to say they are fully functioning. 🧭

Cherry class are enjoying creating a multifunctional navigational tool for a ‘Dragon’s Den’ inspired competition in DT this week! We have successfully coded a pedometer, cardinal compass and a flashlight!🔦🧭🏃‍♀️

Year 5 are thoroughly enjoying their Movie Night. Thanks to @OjsTogether for organising it. Both staff and children are enjoying, ‘The Lorax’.🍿🎬

Silver Birch investigated whether the amount of paper clips on the paper spinner would change the time it took for the paper spinner to descend to the floor. We spoke about gravity, air resistance and even terminal velocity and included these in our explanations.

Following a fantastic sports day, Cherry class finished the day recognising the great sportsmanship we had seen our peers show throughout the morning by giving them a shoutout in our class discussion! Well done to all who competed and showed excellent team spirit!🌟🍒

We were very excited to compete in our Sports Day, today. Year 5 showed great determination, kindness and enthusiasm throughout the morning and we were very proud of their efforts. Thanks to our supportive parents for making the morning even more special. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s Science week! Here are some photos of Silver Birch and Pine class investigating gravity. We looked at how distance and height had an impact on how quickly items fell when we threw them into the air!🎾👆

Silver Birch enjoyed meeting our buddies last week, we took our roles very seriously and were great role models and very friendly. We took the responsibility in our stride and the Year 2s felt very welcomed and happy. ☀️

Liverpool John Moores University hosted ‘ Engineering for All’ , an event to inspire students to become engineers. Mrs Lee took a group of Year 4 and 5 children for a fantastic action packed day!#STEM
