The month of October is dedicated to the Rosary. Today OLA Catholic School participated in a living Rosary. Students served as beads and formed a Rosary on the field. It was a special way to pray the Rosary as a school community.

Our Eighth-grade students left for a three day retreat today. Before their departure they shared breakfast with their parents and attended mass. They received a special blessing from Father Kevin and the Kindergarten and First-grade students. Please keep them in your prayers.

We held our 12th Annual Day of Service today in which we focus on the principals of our founding Sisters of Mercy in serving others. Following mass, students in all grades participated in projects, both on and off campus, serving a variety of organizations.

Today was the first meeting of our Prayer Families. Prayer Families is a school-wide prayer program of 32 prayer families, named after Saints, from multi-grade levels. Today the Prayer Families played ice breaker games to get to know one another. They also colored wooden crosses.

Our Sunshine Committee surprised our faculty and staff with a candy bar! They transformed the teacher lounge into a candy shop. Faculty and staff filled bags with sweet treats from a awesome display of all sorts of candy that would make Willy Wonka proud.

Once a month our middle school students enjoy a Chick-fil-A chicken biscuit breakfast together.

Today was the sixth grade retreat which began with mass. The sixth grade students were given a special gift of a bible that was blessed by Father John. Please keep our sixth grade students in your prayers.
