This is Chief TOS Benson.
Theophilus Owolabi Shobowale Benson.
Born on the 3rd of July, 1917 into an aristocratic family in Ikorodu, Lagos.
He was Nigeria's 1st minister of Information, Broadcasting and Culture.
He studied law at Lincoln’s Inn in London and was called to the Bar in 1947. He returned to Nigeria and went straight into law practice and politics. He joined the National Council of Nigeria and the Cameroons (NCNC).
But how did the NCNC & the duo of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and Eastern Region Premier Michael Okpara scheme out a sitting Federal Minister and Lagos heavyweight like T.O.S. Benson and replace him with Maduagwu Moronu (from the village of Oba in Anambra State) in the race to represent Lagos North at the federal parliament?
This is the story of that high-stakes political betrayal and how T.O.S. Benson took drastic measures to put Zik, Michael Okpara, and Maduagwu Moronu in their place.

This should be Yoruba anthem!
Composed and sang by Chief Hubert Ogunde troop in 1960!
What an Anthem. Many Gen Z will think it is witches song.
Thank you Our Nollywood actors for bringing this to bear
Jeff Bezos sat in a cramped Seattle warehouse in 1997 and gave a 3-minute CNET interview that Warren Buffett, Elon Musk, and Mark Zuckerberg have all publicly cited as the clearest window ever filmed into how a $2 trillion company gets built - a tape he gave for free, in jeans, worth $200 million at the time
the clip is the most-watched founder archive on YouTube
Bezos walked the camera through a storefront with no inventory, a back room with no conveyors, and a team of two dozen people packing books by hand
he said he picked which novels to feature on the homepage the same way readers picked which novels to buy. read the first page and ask whether you want to spend six hours with the narrator
every other bookstore in America was discounting the bestsellers 30%. Bezos discounted both bestsellers AND the New York Times Book Review picks. 30% off what was popular, 30% off what was good, treated as the same question
in 1997 that single pricing decision cost Amazon more per order than any competitor was spending. Bezos did it anyway
he had already decided the customer was always right and the competition was not worth watching
in 2000 Amazon opened its own site to third-party sellers, letting its direct competitors list products next to its own. every analyst called it suicide. Marketplace now does over $400 billion a year in gross sales
in 2006 Amazon launched AWS, selling its internal infrastructure to the companies competing with it. every analyst called it a distraction. AWS is now worth over $1 trillion on its own
in 2017 Amazon paid $13.7 billion for Whole Foods and dropped prices on every item the day the deal closed. Wall Street said it would never recover the premium. the grocery division has since outgrown every traditional chain in America
three decisions over 20 years. every one of them was Bezos picking the customer over the competitor
Bezos put the whole philosophy in one line to CNET that day: "the correlation between bestseller and best book is almost zero"
what's popular tells you what sold last year
what's good tells you what will sell for a century
the paycheck goes to the one who watches the competition
the fortune goes to the one who watches the customer
Warren Buffett is worth $53 billion. He went on CNN and said five words about his late wife: "She put me together."
He married Susan Thompson in 1952. He had $20,000.
"Two turning points in my life," he said. "One when I came out of the womb and one when I met Susie."
By 1977 he was worth $67 million. She left him. Moved to San Francisco. He said it was "95 to 99 percent" his fault. "I just wasn't attuned enough to her. She'd always been perfectly attuned to me."
They never divorced.
Before she left, she introduced him to a waitress named Astrid Menks. Told Astrid to take care of him. Astrid moved in. Every Christmas for 27 years, they sent cards signed "Warren, Susie and Astrid."
Susan died on July 29, 2004. She was 72. Warren was worth $42.9 billion. She left $3 billion in Berkshire shares to charity.
He married Astrid two years later.
In 2013 he sat on CNN with his son and grandson. The chyron read: "She put me together."
"What happened with me would not have happened without her."
He turned $20,000 into $53 billion. He says it was 99% his fault he lost her.
Awolowo was very intelligent. He understood what Nigeria was from the beginning and how we could coexist without constant conflict. The more I learn about him, the more I understand why those officers wanted to install him as president after they took out the regional premiers.
FOLA’S HOMECOMING SHOW!!
For a show that wasn’t impromptu, and one they had months to plan, this was honestly a shitty show. 😭
Shout-out to Fola for the little he did sha, but abeg, there was a lot that could have been done better.
Let’s start with the ticketing because that one alone stressed a lot of people.
How do you buy a ₦10k ticket and still struggle to get a tag at the venue? The whole process was poorly executed. Like, very poorly. The place was a mess.
And the people who bought VIP tickets for ₦20k? LMAO. They too were struggling to get their tags. It literally looked like they were begging for FREE TICKETS.😂
Then they finally entered, and you’d think there would be some kind of special treatment for people who paid for VIP. Nothing. My guys were just there regretting why they spent ₦20k in the first place. 😭
And the network? Ko lo rara ni!😂
That one stressed the hell out of me. You could barely do anything with your phone. Phone wey I suppose dey press
Now, the show itself.
First, whoever was on the decks that night needs to hear this: the DJ was not good enough. 😭
There were several moments where the DJ completely killed the momentum. Some of the artists came on with good energy, but the transitions, song choices and general handling of the music just dulled their vibes. You’d be feeling the artist and suddenly the DJ would do something that would just flatten the whole atmosphere.
He did it for Ayo Maff, he did it for Bella too.
A good DJ should be helping the artist build momentum, not making the performance feel flat. There were too many moments where the crowd was ready, the artist was ready, but the DJ somehow managed to kill the energy.
Then Fola’s intro? I genuinely don’t know what to call that one. 😭 He just wasn’t carrying the audience along. A large chunk of the time he spent on that stage was super boring. No proper vibes, no real connection with the crowd, just… inshallah.😭
It was when TML came out that I actually started seeing some life in the crowd. Shout-out to him because he brought some much-needed energy.
But honestly, the person Fola should be thanking till next year is AYO MAFF. Only God knows where he gets his energy from.
That young boy came and did EVERYTHING RIGHT.
For a show that wasn’t even his, the energy he brought was crazy. The crowd clearly enjoyed him, and you could tell he came prepared to perform. Energy and vibes? 100%.
Then Bella Shmurda came through, and I wasn’t expecting anything less from him. His performance was up there. That guy is good like werey. 😂
If I’m being completely honest, Ayo Maff and Bella Shmurda are probably the biggest consolation I’m taking away from this show. 😂
Fola eventually ended the show well sha. I actually liked the way he rounded things off, so shout-out to him for that.
But overall? If I give this show 6/10, I’m being extremely generous. 😭
Fola, IB will remember you o.😂
Flash: Watch this delightful video of Late Chief MKO Abiola performing as an artiste at his own party singing "Onidodo Oni Moin Moin" alongside his wife, Alhaja Simbiat Abiola, during the Ileya festival in 1982.
So let us even talk about Mufu Lanihun famously called Olowo tin fowo sanu (the rich man who uses his wealth for mercy and benevolence).
I just googled and saw that Mufutau Ajadi Lanihun is the grandson of Sanusi Giwa Adebisi, whose mansion in Idi Ikan is still a reference point in Ibadan. I am just knowing that today.
Mufu Lanihun built the Mufutau Lanihun Primary and Secondary School in Ibadan and completely handed it over to the state government to ensure that underprivileged children could access free education, uniforms and textbooks.
That is a legacy of wealth used for humanity.
So, being called Mufu Lanihun by people on this app? I consider it a privilege. I will gladly take it.
Lmaoooo!
N110m as how???🤣
Let me break it down:
A Nigeria based YouTube channel fetches an RPM (Revenue per Mille) of $0.20 per 1000 views.
Meaning for 8million views:
8m/1000 x 0.20 =$1600
Meaning she’s barely made N2.1m on the movie for now.
