🔬 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬
✅ Milk protein bioactives and their complex forms were well absorbed by microarrayed 3D apical-out intestinal organoid platform, with no toxicity observed.
✅ In an ex vivo infant gut microbiota model (SIFR® technology), these complexes boosted the production of health-promoting gut metabolites like butyrate.
✅ Bioactives positively modulated the gut microbial community, enriching beneficial species such as 𝘉𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘴 and 𝘊𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘴𝘺𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘰𝘴𝘶𝘮.

🚀 Why this matters:
By combining i) 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐬 with ii) 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱 𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐨 𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐚 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 and iii) 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐞𝐬, this platform sets a strong precedent for New Approach Methodologies (NAMs). We propose that this "𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡" offers a robust, human-relevant framework that enhances the translatability of preclinical findings by generating comprehensive mechanistic, safety, and efficacy data.
