โ Milk protein bioactives and their complex forms were well absorbed by microarrayed 3D apical-out intestinal organoid platform, with no toxicity observed.
โ In an ex vivo infant gut microbiota model (SIFRยฎ technology), these complexes boosted the production of health-promoting gut metabolites like butyrate.
โ Bioactives positively modulated the gut microbial community, enriching beneficial species such as ๐๐ข๐ค๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฐ๐ช๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ด ๐ง๐ณ๐ข๐จ๐ช๐ญ๐ช๐ด and ๐๐ญ๐ฐ๐ด๐ต๐ณ๐ช๐ฅ๐ช๐ถ๐ฎ ๐ด๐บ๐ฎ๐ฃ๐ช๐ฐ๐ด๐ถ๐ฎ.
๐ Why this matters:
By combining i) ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ง๐๐๐ ๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐๐ง๐จ๐ข๐ ๐ฆ๐จ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฌ with ii) ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅย ๐๐ฑ ๐ฏ๐ข๐ฏ๐จ ๐ฆ๐ข๐๐ซ๐จ๐๐ข๐จ๐ญ๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญย and iii) ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ข-๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐๐ฌ, this platform sets a strong precedent for New Approach Methodologies (NAMs).
