Our indigenous led coalition is holding @Metrolinx and @fordnation government to account. #YSW#Onpoli#Topoli Our community deserves a government that listens to our community. This week at Queen's Park, I was focused on pushing back against the Premier's ongoing land grabs. While he may have walked back on the Greenbelt, he's still carving up farmland in Hamilton, Halton, Waterloo and elsewhere to help well-connected insiders cash in. #onpoli
We want the land returned to the Greenbelt and full criminal investigations.
Forget the damage control through incremental resignations.
Reverse the land grab and boundary expansions in #HamOnt and #Halton, NOW!
Ford just announced a cabinet shuffle and and another attempt to explain his way out of this exploding mess tomorrow at 10 am. Unless he's shuffling himself out of the Premier's office, Ontario won't buy his spin. WE. ARE. NOT. FOOLS. #Greenbelt#GreenbeltScandal#onpoli#ON
There needs to be an investigation on how Halton's Official Plan was blown up by the Province with absolutely no discussion or justification. Halton determined it needed zero additional land due to the large stockpile. This came back. No appeal allowed 8,278 acres #followthemoney
“You can’t do a reasonable review of new Greenbelt lands in 3 weeks, gosh you can’t do it in 3 months”—Kevin Eby, Retired Chief Planner of Kitchener-Waterloo. @metromorning
Nearly 50 years of public policy came together in the Greenbelt. Every step of the way, citizen advocates played a crucial role in shaping the future of our region.
Lobbying, advocating, conducting research, disseminating information. Until now.
In 1973, Bill Davis protected the Niagara Escarpment.
In 1990, the United Nations declared the Niagara Escarpment a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.
In 2001, Mike Harris protected the Oak Ridges Moraine, laying the foundation for the Greenbelt.
In 2005, Dalton McGuinty pushed the Greenbelt over the finish line, and created Places to Grow, directing growth to existing urban centres. We officially began growing up as a region.
In 2022, the Auditor General outed Doug Ford for beginning the sell off of these protected lands to his friends, for astronomical profit.
Very curious as to what will come next. The story is unwritten, and we all have a role to play - as we always have.
Put the land back in the Greenbelt now! Auditor General's report shows that the Ontario Government colluded with developers to remove lands from the Greenbelt https://t.co/H9fUraeBWR via @envirodefence#HandsOffTheGreenbelt#onpoli
Feds prying the Ford government's #handsoffthegreenbelt, for good reason! Several species-at-risk facing threats in the Greenbelt. Our relatively warmer and small ecoregion in Southern Ontario has few healthy areas left - we must protect them and focus development in our cities.
Need to understand what's wrong with #durhamregion planning? Read this. We do not need this massive urban boundary expansion. #savefarmland https://t.co/jbXYR5721T
We normally don’t dish on electoral politics but the Race for Toronto Mayor is heating up and there is some explaining to do…

Todays news conference Vic Fedeli stated that Doug Ford is the best closure in business.
Winsor Business groups blame Ford's cancellation of renewable energy contracts for losing out on a $2.5-billion plant from LG Chem, a Korean chemical company.

A glimpse of the cost of provincial policies coming to your #propertytax bill. Expect the $$ you'll be paying to increase even more once pipes are extended to put provincially mandated sprawl in your community. #kitchener#halton#hamilton https://t.co/WCOue99qS5
@thekanj@jen_keesmaat@TownofWhitby Sadly Whitby Council is determined to expand urban boundaries & sprawl our town & Region. Our Regional Councillors voted for sprawl last May, & will likely endorse it in the Region's Official Plan on May 17. They have zero understanding of planning for anything other than cars.
