Our world is becoming unhinged & we seem incapable of coming together to respond.
But the @UN was created precisely for moments like this – moments of maximum danger & minimum agreement.
What we need is determination to heal divisions & forge peace.
Celebrating World Mangrove day I went through the mangroves where people were catching land crabs to make traditional crab farcie and was taught how to catch razor clams (couteau de mer / “issènèné”)
Replanting mangroves in World mangrove day with local communities and NGOs in Akanda. Mangroves protect Libreville from flooding, filter pollutants, are the nursery for most of the marine fish we eat and store vast quantities if carbon. They also support the local economy.

Gabon’s sovereign REDD+ credits are the best value credits on the market! For every ton of credit we absorb 10t net from the atmosphere. And they are elephant positive credits as our ele population rose from 60,000 to 95,000 during the crediting period https://t.co/feA3ye4T0q
