In 1998, Serena and Venus Williams said they could beat any man ranked outside the top 200 in the men's division.

So, little known and 203rd ranked men's player Karsten Braasch took them up on the challenge.

Braasch after a night of drinking and smoking with zero practice, destroyed Serena 6-1 and Venus 6-2 in straight sets.

The Williams sisters are the greatest female athletes of all time. And they barely made Braasch break a sweat.

It wasn't because Braasch was very good. He wasn't.

But, as a male, he possesses biological advantages even the best female athletes can't compete against.

That's the very reason we established women's sports to begin with.

To even the playing field.

That shouldn't be controversial. And you shouldn't need a biology degree to understand it.

Imagine you’re a young child in the 70s. you’ve been going to this parish your whole life, like your parents before you and their parents too. Perhaps your family helped build the original church.

Every Sunday you were transcended by the beauty of the church and the mystery of the Mass.

One Sunday you show up and see that it was “updated”.

After this, can you really blame people for stopping going to church back then?

One evening, Padre Pio and several friars went to a concert in a hall right next to their monastery. Pio was fully present, enjoying the music with genuine enthusiasm. During intermission, he suddenly leaned forward, rested his head and arms on the seat in front of him, and stayed completely still and silent for about five minutes. The other friars just assumed he was tired and left him alone.

The next day, Padre Carmelo visited a sick man in town. The man was overflowing with gratitude he said; "Thank you for allowing Padre Pio to come visit me last night!"

Carmelo was stunned. "That’s impossible. I was with him the entire evening at the concert. He never left."

But the man and his whole family insisted Padre Pio had been physically present in their home, praying with them. When Carmelo asked the exact time of the visit… it matched the intermission perfectly - the same five minutes Pio had appeared to be "resting."

Yet for all the miracles, Padre Pio never wanted the spotlight. When a woman he healed once asked him, "Are you a saint?", he simply replied:

"No. I am only a poor creature who serves the Lord through His mercies."

Whenever people thanked him for a healing, he would look almost embarrassed and say:

"Don’t thank me, thank God."

All things are possible through Christ.

An Australian woman battling terminal cancer traveled to Lebanon 🇱🇧 seeking a blessing at St. Charbel’s shrine.

A priest stopped and blessed her. Her son took a photo.

Later, they asked the monastery who the priest was.

They were told, “No one here looks like that.”

They believed St. Charbel himself had appeared. ✝️

Most therapists are worse than useless. The vast majority are liberal women who don’t possess the life experience, wisdom, or moral or intellectual foundation to offer worthwhile guidance to anyone (especially men). Most of them got into the therapy business in the first place because they have their own deep mental problems. Now they’re acting as life guides for other confused people, despite being no less confused themselves.

But even in the relatively rare circumstance where a therapist isn’t a weird, dysfunctional person, still the practice of therapy presupposes that the best way to deal with your problems and “traumas” is to obsessively talk about them, which is almost always not the case. You’re better off going to the gym or going for a jog.

I know this is hard for people in our culture to understand, but “talking it out” is actually not the way to solve your problems most of the time. There’s a reason why most people in therapy stay in it forever. Therapy creates repeat customers. This is intentional. It’s a symbiotic relationship. The therapist needs her clients to come back so the business is viable. The clients want to come back because they have a narcissistic desire to talk about themselves and navel gaze in lieu of actually doing anything to take charge of their own lives.

Over the past twenty years, nearly a third of monasteries (approximately 30%) have closed. Women's monasteries have been proportionally harder hit: 32% of them have closed, compared to 21% of men's monasteries. And the pace is accelerating: until 2015, there were fewer than four closures per year on average. That figure now stands at around ten per year.

A particularly striking finding of this study is that the crisis has not affected monasteries uniformly. In 2007, there were 244 French-language monasteries, 36 mixing French and Latin, and 23 monasteries using Latin exclusively [both new and old rite].
