While traveling home from a game, they were involved in a terrible head-on car accident. Both Haeva and Kate had surgery, and they and their family need all the love, strength, and prayers our softball community can offer right now.

This is from Kate

Kate wanted to give everyone an update .
Early Sunday morning Haeva and Kate were involved in a head on collision on 221. A drunk and high on cocaine driver was in the wrong lane. Kate suffered fractures to both of her legs. She has had on one of her legs and is waiting to see if the other leg needs to have surgery.
Haeva's injuries were far more extensive.
She was in the back seat and the seat belt hit her with such force that it caused a ton of surgeries. She has laceration to her spleen, bruised pancreas, her first part of her small bowel was severed and not viable. They removed that section and reattached it to the stomach.
Her lower belly the abdomen muscle wall split open and caused the bowels to come through creating a hernia. Those will have to be addressed. She has a pedicle fracture in her L1 vertbra. She also has an SI joint fracture.
She will have a 3rd surgery sometime Monday or Tuesday. Thank you for all of the visits, texts, and calls. We truly appreciate it.
We know God is the ultimate physician and that he is going to completely heal her.
