Keane isn’t even in for the job. We all know the board wants O’Neill as no other candidates have been found. They’ll likely frame it as a positive move to have hired a 74-year-old manager.
Robbie Keane is poised for talks with Celtic hierarchy TONIGHT as the club steps up its search for a new permanent manager.
Despite rumours Martin was getting the job full time
Discussions between Celtic’s principal shareholder Dermot Desmond and Martin O’Neill over the club’s vacant manager’s role have been pushed back to next week.
Celtic had also planned to meet additional candidates in London as the search for a new manager continues, but those talks, along with the scheduled discussions involving O’Neill, have now been delayed until after the weekend.
O’Neill is set to attend the Belfast Telegraph Sports Awards in Belfast later this evening.

Robbie Keane should be absolutely nowhere near Glasgow Celtic in any capacity.
Outside of the abhorrent political aspect, which should eliminate him entirely, he’s done nothing of note that warrants becoming Celtic manager.
Martin O’Neill over Robbie Keane every single time ✊🏻
In some ways, winning the double was probably the worst thing that could’ve happened if we actually wanted change at the club. It’s likely just reinforced Desmond & co’s belief that everything’s fine as it is. Same old “jobs for the boys” culture rolls on…
Lawrence Shankland will return from holiday as Rangers aim to seal a move for the Hearts forward before he heads off to the World Cup.
The 30-year-old is expected to sign a three-year deal at Ibrox.
