North Korean soldiers at one of the russian military training grounds.
The head of the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence, Budanov, says that the first 2,600 North Korean troops will be sent to the Kursk region by November 1.
Ukraine is the elephant in the room in Draghi’s plan (a strong and timely piece, btw). Now that the vision has been outlined and the new European Commission is announced, it's time to acknowledge that Ukraine is indispensable to addressing the EU’s strategic challenges.
What does the EU gain from Ukraine?
1️⃣ Critical raw materials (e.g., lithium, graphite, titanium, manganese). Ukraine should not be seen solely as an exporter of raw materials; these resources should be extracted and processed locally, adding value to Ukraine’s economy and integrating it into the broader EU industrial supply chain.
2️⃣ Energy generation. Ukraine was exporting electricity to the EU and can resume once its energy system is restored. It also offers the largest in Europe underground gas storage.
3️⃣ IT talent and innovation.
4️⃣ Europe’s strongest military and an advanced defense industrial base.
5️⃣ Ukraine offers a large market with strong human capital. While the displacement of millions of Ukrainians due to Russian aggression is tragic for our country, they have already become an economic asset to the EU. Meanwhile, Ukraine itself remains a significant market with immense growth potential.
6️⃣ Ukraine’s recovery could become one of the driving forces for the EU economy and companies.
7️⃣ Most importantly, Ukraine has proven its ability to adapt quickly under pressure. In fact, today Ukraine may be better positioned for dramatic transformations than the EU itself.
Ukraine will make the EU stronger and more competitive. Therefore, fast-tracking Ukraine’s accession, while maintaining a merit-based approach, serves the interests of all Europe.
Vylkove, Odesa region. Hit the hotel today.
Mykolaivka, Donetsk region. Hit the hotel yesterday.
Kryvyi Rih, an attack on the hotel the day before.
In recent weeks, russians have literally included hotels in their list of planned targets and are hitting them almost daily.
The fact that this is a crime against humanity is not even discussed.
But everyone should take this into account when planning trips. And especially to foreign journalists.

russians killed 7 people in Lviv. Three of them are children.
Missiles with American chips kill Ukrainian children, while Ukraine is forbidden to respond with American missiles.
Happy to share this @cepa piece co-authored with my former colleague @OSeredyuk about the need for stronger defense cooperation between 🇮🇹 & 🇺🇦, & how this would be mutually beneficial for both countries in times of need and unprecedented threats.

The moment of the russian terrorist strike on a building in Kharkiv.
There are currently 2 people killed and 37 injured.
This bomb was launched by russian aviation.
If @POTUS had allowed Ukraine to strike russian airfields with ATACMS, this attack on Kharkiv might not have happened.
Lives could have been protected.
Lives must be protected.
It's time to stop the terror!
@federicoborsar1 That's usually how their rhetoric is because they posture as though they are in the right. Technically, from that approach everything that they don't like is wrong. I am curious how much of what they proclaim they actually believe wholeheartedly and how much is just power games
