Actor Prakash Raj Alleges Name Deleted from Voter List

Actor #PrakashRaj has alleged that his name was deleted from the voter list in #Bengaluru during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (#SIR) exercise in #Karnataka, sparking fresh concerns over large-scale disenfranchisement.

Prakash Raj, who has been a vocal critic of voter list irregularities, said the deletion was unjustified given his lifelong association with the constituency. “You can use your powers to deny a few citizens the right to vote, who may not elect you,” he warned. “But can you stop us, my dear friend, from our power of bringing you down?”

Emphasizing his roots, Prakash Raj noted that he was born, raised, educated and began his theatre career in the same area. He further underscored the seriousness of the deletion by recalling his political background: “And for your kind information, I was an MP candidate of this constituency too.”

His allegation comes amid mounting reports of voter list deletions across Karnataka. According to the Election Commission of India, nearly 1.09 crore names have been flagged under the ASDDO category, which stands for Absent, Shifted Address,Dead, Duplicate and Others.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Karnataka, has urged citizens to verify whether their names appear in the ASDDO list and immediately contact their Booth Level Officer (BLO) for corrections to avoid losing their voting rights.

#WATCH | Karnataka | Food Safety Department conducted inspections at hotels in Bengaluru.

Following are the seizure and disposal details:

1. Hotel Sky, UB City

- Rotten Chicken/Beef – 45 kg
- Vegetable Cutlet – 6 kg
- Used Cooking Oil – 15 litres
- Total food articles: 51 kg
- The above food articles were found unfit for consumption and discarded/destroyed as per procedure.

2. Royal Chain Hotel

- Duck – 50 kg
- Fish – 5 kg
- Total seized: 55 kg

3. Madras Kitchen

- Green Peas – 5 kg

4. Tescon Hotel

- Mushroom – 5 kg

5. Senchez Hotel

- Fish – 3 kg – Seized
- Cake, Potato & Tacos – 7 kg – Discarded

Overall Seizure/Disposal

- Total food articles seized/disposed: 132 kg
- Used Cooking Oil: 15 litres
- Total quantity of food articles: 132 kg

Skyee Lounge, 16th floor, U B City, Bangalore Kitchen, was closed for its unhygienic maintenance of kitchen and all meat and beef was rotten with fungus.

Milk and curd with expiry date 10 days back was found.

Bengaluru Hotels Under Scanner;
Rotten Chicken, Reused Oil Seized in Luxury Hotel Kitchens,Skyye Lounge Kitchen Sealed at UB City

Acting on the directives of Health and Family Welfare Minister U.T. Khader, the #FoodSafety Wing carried out surprise raids on several eateries across #Bengaluru on Sunday, exposing severe hygiene lapses and regulatory violations in some of the city’s top establishments.

Officials seized and destroyed 132 kilograms of unfit food articles along with 15 litres of reused cooking oil that failed to meet health standards. The kitchen of #SkyyeLounge, 16th floor, #UBCity, was sealed for unhygienic maintenance. Inspectors reported that meat and beef stored there was rotten and covered with fungus. Expired dairy products, including milk and curds past their date by ten days, were also found.

During the coordinated drive,officials uncovered alarming conditions in premium hotels, including rotten meat, expired vegetables and heavily reused cooking oil.

The Health Department released a detailed list of penalized establishments and the food items confiscated.

1. Skyye Lounge, UB City : 51 kg of food articles were seized, including 45 kg of rotten #chicken and #beef, and 6 kg of vegetable cutlets. Additionally, 15 litres of used cooking oil were confiscated.

2.Royal Chain Hotel: 55 kg of meat was destroyed, comprising 50 kg of duck and 5 kg of fish.

3. Madras Kitchen : 5 kg of expired green peas.

4. Tescon Hote : 5 kg of mushrooms.

5. Senchez Hotel : 10 kg of food was seized, including 3 kg of fish and 7 kg of cake, potatoes and tacos.

All items were declared unfit for consumption and destroyed immediately as per safety protocols.

The Health Department has issued strict warnings to the offending establishments, stressing that further violations of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 will invite severe penal action, including possible suspension of operating licenses.
