Why Pirates Will Not Win the League
1. A team that consistently finishes
2nd is not a title team, it’s a cup team.
Promising every season but failing to win the league is a pattern, not bad luck.
2. High-Intensity Football With poor Conditioning and recovery = Disaster
Pirates play a European-style high press, but with PSL lifestyles. You can’t press for 90 minutes every week if you’re:
-Eating iphuthu nenyama yenhloko,
-Drinking 6 beers on Saturday,
-Traveling to Pretoria for bums every 2 weeks.
- No elite recovery, no strict diet protocols, meaning burnout is guaranteed.
3. AFCON Will Finish Their Key Players, depending on call-ups, players will return exhausted and we know Broos is going to call up 6-7 Pirates players
-After a AFCON competitions, high-intensity teams always dip (you can look at european teams for guidance), Pirates don’t have the depth to absorb it…you may see Mofokeng and Maswanganyi on the bench, that is not overall depth, those two players can only do si much!
4. Tactical Identity Not Built for a 30-Game Marathon
-Pirates’ football is beautiful in moments but not sustainable. That gengenptessing they do against teams easily takes a toll on players, look at how Mofokeng and Maswanganyi were almost finished one in the previous two seasons and the former in the laster season…
As a fan, be honest to yourself🙏🙏🙏
