This dude about had me crying in Walmart lol. Smh! I know being an educator is hard and you are underpaid but you are making a difference. U may never see the finished product but your Ss never forget you. God or bad remember that.

On my way into Walmart A young gentleman walked up to me and said hey Mr. Oakley. This particular young man was a former student of mine. He wanted to thank me for helping him make a tough decision about college.

I told him flat out, be patient. You will get in I believe in you and you family believes in you. He stopped me today to tell me that he got in to A&T and says he thinks about that interaction and that I taught him more than science. He said I taught him about life too.

Where do we go from here NC DPI? Low enroll and more Charters… where is public education heading? Budget issues and low pay coupled with low morale with all education staff. Teacher shortage but no one is doing anything or saying anything.
