@Ryan_r_Williams A great sounding half of the equation. But (honest question) what is the plan to balance it? What expenses/ programs will be cut? Or what will the increase be to the (inflationary - per Pierre ) deficits be as a result?
@Ryan_r_Williams Does that mean increasing inflationary deficits or cutting programs- (if so which ones)? Does that mean giving up on CO2 reductions or a regulation heavy approach to limit CO2? Genuinely want to hear policy proposals that address the other half of these “no tax”sound bites.
@Ryan_r_Williams “Natural Gas” is one of the all time greatest marketing jobs,it’s essentially methane which has 10x the global warming coefficient of CO2, the average person and politician can unfortunately be easily misled, or more unfortunately use it to mislead
@JericaFraser@Sflecce Genuine question, what is an indigenous science framework? No doubt there are important indigenous ways of knowing that should be given exposure but did indigenous people practice the scientific method? Any links for me to read more on this so I can learn are much appreciated
@danielfoch@JustinC42020023@JustinTrudeau I guess in theory it is possible to criminalize R/E transactions without certain terms, but I can’t think of any analogous examples, seems like a drastic overreach of the CC in a democracy and subject to a likely successful division of powers challenge by the provinces
@danielfoch@JustinC42020023@JustinTrudeau Real estate is within provincial jurisdiction- feds / Trudeau can’t do anything RE: mandating contract terms on a sale transaction
@Ryan_r_Williams So does that mean you are in favour of more deficit borrowing? Raising other taxes to compensate for the revenue loss? Or cutting costs/ services? Specifics please. Saying “cut taxes” is the easy part , but reality demands we balance this little equation somehow.
@robertwrhebert@PierrePoilievre Sorry Robert that is also incorrect, a simple majority vote (like basically all votes parliament makes) is all that is needed to change the legislation governing the BOC, a bad idea to have more political intervention on monetary policy for a host of reasons
@LakhTek@MarkinMetaForm Winning party in litigation typically gets 40-60 % of their legal expenses incurred before an offer to settle (assuming they beat their offer at a trial) and 80-90% on legal fees incurred after an offer to settle, 90+% of cases never go to trial and are settled beforehand
@LakhTek@MarkinMetaForm Whether a seller sues is a personal decision based on several factors, if they sell for less the damages are the difference between the two prices plus potentially other costs, no automatic release on a sale to the new buyer
@robertwrhebert@PierrePoilievre That is kind of the point Robert- as PM there is a good chance he would have the votes to change the legislation and do away with that independence and appoint whomever he wishes with whatever mandate he decides, there is no wisdom in his position
@HPEschools This tweet is a reminder of HPEDSB’s dereliction of its legal and moral duty to provide a safe work and learning environment by not implementing a proven, easily implemented public health measure called masking for a few weeks during the 6th wave of this pandemic, disgraceful
@fordnation what a cynical, transparent and fiscally irresponsible vote buying scheme this is license refund side show is. No doubt other parties would likely do the same, still always disappointing. We voters are ultimately responsible for politician’s behaviour
@SamHarrisOrg Fiona hill has got to be at the top of the list, serious depth of knowledge and history on Russia and on the one person who matters most in this horrible situation: Mr Putin
