My current bias on both USOIL and GOLD is based on one major story: global uncertainty and how money moves during times like this.

With the ongoing U.S.– Iran tensions, pressure around the Middle East, and concerns about oil supply disruptions, both markets are reacting strongly. When there is fear around war, supply routes, or global instability, Oil and Gold usually respond first.

Oil has been pushing higher because the market is pricing in possible supply shortages, especially with concerns around the Strait of Hormuz and rising tensions in the Middle East. This creates fear of reduced crude supply, which naturally pushes USOIL higher.

At the same time, Gold remains strong because investors see it as a safe haven during uncertain periods. Whenever there is fear in the market, money often flows into Gold for protection.

This is where my technical bias aligns with the fundamentals.

USOIL has been moving bullishly, respecting multiple bullish FVGs and continuing to trade into premium. But price is now getting close to a major higher timeframe supply zone. For me, this suggests the upside may be temporary, mainly a move to grab buy-side liquidity before a stronger sell-off begins.

I’m expecting one more push higher for full mitigation into that premium area, and from there, I’ll be watching for bearish displacement. The bigger target remains the external range liquidity below, around the $80 region.

On Gold (by the way, I trade gold on @humbexchange), price has already been selling into discount and is now approaching an important demand zone. There is sell-side liquidity resting below the recent lows, along with a bullish FVG sitting in that same area.

My expectation is for price to sweep that liquidity, tap into the lower FVG, and then react strongly to the upside. The main target for that move is the higher timeframe resistance around 4,867.

This is what my quant framework combines - liquidity, price delivery, and the current macro environment.
