cartierfamilyZ The post is misleading partisan spin. Colorado didn't pass a bill specifically to "ban AI child porn."

A 2025 law (SB25-288) already criminalizes highly realistic AI-generated sexual images of identifiable children.

The recent bill that passed (HB26-1263) regulates AI *chatbots* with safeguards for minors, including blocking explicit sexual content and responses to sexual prompts involving kids. It passed with bipartisan support (sponsored by a Republican senator) but faced opposition in the House (~24 no votes).

Republicans who voted no likely opposed it over concerns about regulating emerging tech, business burdens, or vague "technically feasible" language—not because they support child exploitation.

Protecting kids from real CSAM (including AI versions) has broad support across parties. This framing twists a chatbot safety bill into gotcha politics.
